Sprue Picker Posted January 13 Posted January 13 How about finally doing the 1/24 F/A-2 Sea Harrier that was announced some years back-along with a 1/72 VC-10. 3
Stuart Wilson Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I agree it might be a bit too early for another B-24 variant. However it's almost a shoe-in sooner or later. I've just built a second one and I think the sprue breakdown is pointing towards an earlier rather than later variant which means a D model, probably a Coastal command one. The number of people who have asked for a Jaguar in either 1/72 or 1/48 means that surely they would be foolish not to release one? I'd prefer the smaller scale but I'd definitely buy one in 1/48 if they did it. Loads of potential schemes too and a two seater would be possible (but we didn't get a two seater, Hunter or Lightning so who knows?) I'd love a good Halifax. But I would definitely prefer a later one with the longer nose and square fins. I would expect them to go for a Merlin version just because of the greater variety of schemes i.e. Coastal command and the desert camo. Are there any Hampdens left for them to measure? it would be a good seller I'd have thought. A JU-88 would be nice but there's a lovely kit from Revell already available in 1/72. Perhaps in 1/48? A 1/48 Mosquito BXVI would be great, so long as they can correct the errors in the 1/72 kit! and I would expect a1/48 Hawker Typhoon is long overdue. We'll see tomorrow. 2

I assume most sales come from flyers, but there are other areas too. It could be a tank or a ship, or as I like to refer to them, ‘targets’ 😆 Trevor who is now in hiding from the tankies! All items on my wishlist are aircraft, but I would be very tempted by a 1/350 HMS QE (R08) or POW. And then in later years add the Type 26 and Type 31.
vppelt68 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Me too... all new tools in 1:72 - Ju 88 A-5/D-2/C-4 - PBY-5A Catalina - SEPECAT Jaguar, of course New variants or decal options - special Lancaster, whatever - Beaufort Mk.II - Me 410 something, anything goes - B-17G w/Stinger tail, 381st BG decals V-P 1

Classic 315 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Two/three more candidates for the “Vintage Classics”. Canberra B(I)8 and PR9 TSR2 2

Steve Coombs Posted January 13 Posted January 13 1/72nd Canberras with proper rudders and a modular variety of noses/canopies/cockpits would be very nice. A well-proportioned Halifax in 1/72nd would go down a treat too. A repopped/reworked Puma in the One True Scale would be ironic as the real thing is withdrawn from service. The 1/72nd Tornado kit is far too long in the tooth and could do with a modern tooling. Revell has had its own way for over a quarter of a century, so the time is ripe. The Alley Cat conversions were lovely things for early EE Lightnings, but dedicated kits would be even better! I'm still trying to work out the significance of the Wilbur Wright memorial in Le Mans. The Wright Flyer would be too left field for Airfix, a Le Mans 24-hour car strikes me as more likely for Scalextric (though owned by Hornby!), and there are more Wright-powered aircraft than I can shake a stick at. Roll on 4 p.m. on the 14th! 1 1
New Tool Posted January 13 Posted January 13 (edited) I knew it would be a vintage classic, upscaled. And that it would be a Super ..... https://ibb.co/pw8jtPP Edited January 13 by New Tool 1
IT_Man Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I'm wondering whether a new tool 1/72 Marauder might be on the cards. They've done the B-24 and B-25 in recent years, maybe a B-26 this time around? The now Vintage one always seemed to sell well when I was working in a couple of shops (albeit a while ago now!). That said, I recall the Hasegawa one sitting on the shelf for a good while towards the end of those days (probably late 2008), though it did seem a lot more expensive.
Max Headroom Posted January 13 Posted January 13 4 hours ago, Dennis_C said: Well... I think it lacks proper panel lines almost entirely. I mean it does have some random trenches (in the best 2011 Airfix style) but there should be much more panel lines. And problem is if you want to add missing panel lines you have a combo of normal ones and WWI trenches. If you do not add - you get a very Corgi looking model unfortunately. Moreover all those small Airfix-engraved doors and hinges on the wing are oversized. Basic cockpit probably needs no comments. Again typical for 15-years old Airfix One more annoying thing - the kit has no Aden cannons. That is a pity as these were common e.g. in Afghanistan. Shapewise the Airfix's Harriers are perfect though. So if they eventually redo the molds - that could be a very much appreciated thing. I think we are talking different models. Mine has very fine engraved panel lines. This is mine https://www.scalemates.com/kits/airfix-a04050a-bae-harrier-gr7a-gr9--1397434 Trevor
Aeronut22 Posted January 13 Posted January 13 If a Halifax emerges can I hope it will be the B Mk III but with extra parts to produce the A Mk IX. Airfix already produce an airdrop load for the Mk IX with their Jeep and its crash pans. Of course they could always give us a Hastings and still hang two jeeps under that. 1
