I’d be really surprised if they didn’t announce a HAR.3 version of their sea king kit. The yellow scheme especially if they go for the SAR 25th anniversary marking would be really fetching.

I neither build helicopters nor in 1/48. This however i think I would buy

Some less likely than others but, well, it doesn't harm to 'wish'...

1/48 SEPECAT Jaguar

1/48 Phantom FG1/FGR2

1/48 Venom

1/48 Two-seater Hunter

1/48 Sea Vixen

1/48 TSR2

1/72 Boeing P-8 (MRA1) Poseidon

1/72 Airbus Voyager

1/72 Rivet Joint

1/72 Nimrod (with correct intakes)

One suggestion that's not really come up is a modern family of 1/72 Tornadoes. The real thing available to scan, fits in with established Airfix themes,, strong RAF connection, lots of markings, relatively easy to do in a modular form...I in particular would love a up to date and accurate Tornado F3 in 1/72...

...and while I'm dreaming, 172 two seat hunter and two seat lightnings...

Since I just finished the horrible Kittyhawk 1/48 Jaguar, this will almost certainly be one of the new Airfix releases.

What about a 1/24 Bf 109? Not so much for me, but a pretty likely next release in that scale. And maybe a 1/48 Gladiator to follow the Bulldog? Or a 1/48 Hawker Typhoon.

And surely a new Spifire, maybe a 1/72 one this time. Maybe a XIV? And  1/72 Hunter or Javelin or another down-scaled jet?

Not as likely, but very welcome would be a 1/48 Venom (two-seater), a 1/48 Puma and a 1/48 Supermarine Swift.

Just my wish list. All 1/48.

Hawker P.1127/Kestrel

Harrier GR5/7/9

Eurofighter Typhoon

Gripen

Rebox of Merlin in Navy scheme

I realise these are all highly unlikely as they don’t really seem to fit Airfix’s themes.

I'd hope for a couple of additions to the armour range - probably one from FV101 Scorpion, FV107 Scimitar or FV103 Spartan. Would love to see a Daimler Dingo.

Would like to see the old JB Models Bedfords etc back, but unsure if they would bring them back into the range, as not vintage but not up to recent post-Hornby standards perhaps.

I feel there will be a good selection of the Vintage kits - could see the 1/72 Anson back (test the waters for a new tool?), Walrus and some of the WWI aircraft.

Hard to predict anything aircraft-wise - I suspect there won't be too many new tooling - Jag and Tornado would be at the forefront for me - could see arguments in 1/72 and 1/48. Could possibly see the Fairey Battle in 1/48.

1/72 DH89 Dragon Rapide

one of the WW2 USN types to replace previous older kits

Halifax. Hercules engined and then a Merlin engined version as they did with the Lancaster

         Hudson

and whatever they have chosen .

Now speaking realistically - one thing Airfix could have done - 1/72 of course - that is PBY Catalina. Academy is totally empty inside and nothing else on the market + Airfix is not afraid of really large kits.

Another potentially strong theme - Texan/Harvard to supplement its series of 1/72 trainers.

Of course possibilities are several WWII single engined machines with RAF footprint - P-47, Avenger, Hellcat.

In post-war theme there are two really big gaps in Airfix catalogue - Hunter and Jaguar. Also some helicopters like Whirlwing, Gazelle, Puma, Apache, Lynx in different versions are also strong possibilities. Airfix is not avoiding helicopters theme so why not?

This may be heretical, but every post bar one is all aircraft, and one does mention an AFV.

Surely Airfix won't restrict themselves to aircraft alone, because in their vintage classic range are ships, cars, AFVs, figures, even birds. and Some Sci Fi I believe.

So wouldn't their range announcement be more likely to include new toolings of perhaps a car or AFV - or both - and maybe re releases of some ships, figures, possibly a sci fi kit?

I'll be honest here, there are very few aircraft kits I'd be interested in, probably the one I'd be most interested in would be a sepecat Jaguar single seater, 1/48 would do but 1/72 would be fine, while I might be quite interested in something like a QE or PoW carrier, or even one of the later and bigger hovercraft.

Here's an outlandish thought; perhaps a partial flight deck like the Border models  Akagi bridge and flight deck in 1/72 or 1/32 of QE or PoW?

I’ve seen suggestions of a 1/48 Hudson gain traction out in the wild. If using the Hendon example (the only one in Europe) there are several bear traps….

I’d buy one though.

have I ever mentioned a Balliol? Think about it, Airfix is running out of postwar RAF trainers to do.

I'm still scratch-building the interior for a Classic Airframes one, so that it's got an interior that fits - Airfix won't move on a new Hudson in 1:48 until I'm finished that.

And yes, the Hendon one still has all the mods made to it by Adastra for photo-survey use, so it's well away from original. There is, however, a pristine one at Temora ...

I got the impression the RNLI Shannon was a big seller, so perhaps a new Lifeboat?

If we are wish listing, it really is about time we saw a British submarine in 1/72. I very much doubt Airfix would do it, but the WW2 HMS Upholder would be fab!

If we must have a new aircraft, beyond the much wished for 1/48 Jaguar, perhaps a 1/24 Messerschmitt Komet, It would be a great option for the 1/24 range and would even fit on a shelf!

Finally for a classic reboot, how about the SRN4?
