A very enjoyable kit - well designed and well engineered. The photos make me wish I'd pushed the dustiness a little further, but I've yet to add the in-flight undercarriage, so there might be a sequel to this.

Nicely done, your weathering is spot on, from the photos i have of the full size mock up youve nailed it.

Absolutely fantastic! After seeing this thread I just had to have one,  so I'm making the Harkonnen Ornithopter now, because its the one they had in my local shop yesterday!

I decided to do the wings in a bare metal finish but my attempts at shading aren't going too well now so that may go by-the-by with a rethink.     One thing I would stress is that Meng's engineering on these kits is superb,  everything fits together so well and very few pieces actually need glue.   I think its supposed to be snap fit but I don't see anything in the instructions or on the box that confirms this.     On the Harkonnen 'thopter almost all the seam lines get covered by a press-on body panel and so far I've discovered only one join right under the canopy that I might think about filling, and its only about 2mm long.... so probs wont 😄

Looks great!
What I like best about the ornithopter is the mix of old school gadgetry and futuristic technology - a bit like cyberpunk if you like.

The dusty finish is totally the right effect for the sand planet!  👏👏👏
