Hi

Gloster Meteor F. Mk. 8 from Xtrakit. This plane is WH470 of No. 600 Squadron when based in RAF Biggin Hill, early 1950s

I didn't like the kit, had number of issues with it - fitting problems, the way they designed undercarriage.
I also shouldn't have weathered it - it looked better clean :(. Too late to fix that I guess.

I think the weathering is convincing.  Unless bare aluminium airframes are constantly polished (or lacquered) they tend to take on the duller greyer look  you've given it.

First off, congrats on getting this one across the finish line. I think most people would agree that it's not an easy kit.

I build one last year and it almost ended in a the bin. It definitely taught me a thing or two about cutting, sanding etc.

I tend to avoid applying washes all over, you've got much more control using a fine brush and adding the wash to the panel lines only.

Thanks.

Youtube video was so convincing :)
Yes I think using fine brush for panel lines is the way to go.

I have to agree. Is there any way to wash the crap off it? Panel lines look unconvincing in a Meteor. That said you have done a good job on building the  difficult Xtrakit. A friend had a go and junked it so well done.

Congrats on coming across the finishline! The problem with YT tutorials is that they make it look too easy. When I try it never is the same result..

I wil try the @cpoud117 method
