wimbledon99 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 Hi All, This was originally destined for the Heller GB but as it doesn't meet the criteria, I'm hoping I can build it here. I had other plans for this GB but it runs in parallel with the F16 STBG and I've a 1:32 I've promised to get off the shelf, hence time is a challenge!! Anyhow, here she is, and whilst there are some differences, I'm going with the 35x paint job (and no mud!!) of my my Brother-in-Law's full size version 17
flyboy2610 Posted January 10 Posted January 10 I really like those old tractors! They have a lot of character. Antique tractor shows are pretty popular here in the central US. 1
wimbledon99 Posted January 11 Author Posted January 11 Must be a thing here, too. I was sent other photos by my sister, and one is of the above machine in a field with many other shiny beasts!! 1
bianfuxia Posted January 12 Posted January 12 Excellent choice! Also - I'll lay early odds that this GB will have more tractors in it than any previous GB! 5
wimbledon99 Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 OK - So a few hours over the weekend and a coat of primer today, and this is where I'm at. The primer's pretty close to the real thing above so I might just leave as is! Maybe spray on a wash and add some dry brushing The iPhone seems to switch modes on occasion and makes the lighting look different. I think it's an 'auto-macro'. I've posted one of each (bottom two photos) to show the difference 11
Robert Stuart Posted January 13 Posted January 13 I hadn't realised how many rods and controls are sported by these tractors. Looks like a good start. 1
wimbledon99 Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Thanks. Wasn’t sure where to stop as it’s all the same colour!! 1
Keeff Posted January 13 Posted January 13 Now that is looking good! You're certainly ahead of me!! Keith ☺️
wimbledon99 Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 Thanks Keith. To be fair though, you’re building twice as many!!! 😉
wimbledon99 Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 So I did just that, i.e. "spray on a wash and add some dry brushing". Also managed to sort the wheels and the body parts with 'real' colour Here's where I'm at: I've cleaned up the remaining smaller parts so they are ready to be painted now 13
SnøMotion Posted January 17 Posted January 17 That looks great! I love the finish on the wheels 👌 Martin 1
wimbledon99 Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Thank you I didn't want to go mad on the wheels, but just knew they needed something more than the base colour. Glad you like them 1
Keeff Posted January 17 Posted January 17 That is looking good, and a nice colour too! I like the subtle effects on the wheels .... 👌 Keith ☺️ 1
wimbledon99 Posted January 17 Author Posted January 17 Thanks Keith I'm going to have to do another one day; but battered, and caked in mud!! 1
wimbledon99 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 I managed to get the smaller parts painted over the weekend and them put everything together. Here she is: Thanks to @bianfuxia for the chance to build this. It's been on my 'want to' list since I first saw the kit! 10
rob Lyttle Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Just saw this in the gallery. What a beauty 😍 You ride these rather than climbing into it. Many happy hours spent on a T20, usually followed by a flock of seagulls 1 1
desert falcon Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Congratulations on the final result, it's looking fantastic 👌 1
Geo1966 Posted February 3 Posted February 3 2 hours ago, rob Lyttle said: a flock of seagulls Good Band 🤣 Lovely Tractor build BTW. Well done. George 1
wimbledon99 Posted February 3 Author Posted February 3 Thanks everyone I’m hoping to do another in the future, only it won’t be so clean!! 5
