bianfuxia Posted January 12 Posted January 12 I haven't built a lot of Heller stuff but here is the small collection: All 1/72 - you'll all probably recognize them. Alouette III chopper, an F-86, AlphaJet and the big Mirage IV. I'm hosting the Give Peace a Chance Build so I am not sure I will find the time to build any of my two remaining vintage Heller kits - the 1/72 707 (massive) or the Belle Etoile square rigged sailing ship (time consuming!). But I'll pop by this gb from time to time to follow along! 13
stevehnz Posted January 13 Posted January 13 As usual, I had more than I initially thought once I got to looking through my Flicker pages. A Smer, nee Heller Corsair in ex Frog RNZAF Markings. A Revell nee Heller Vampire F.5 in 112 sqn markings from the Revell kit. An Airfix nee Heller Tempest V in the colours of Kiwi Ace "Rosie" Mackie. Mainly Almark decals after the kit ones turned out to be pretty kak. A Heller AT6 in the colours of a Belgian Air Force machine A Heller SNCASE SE.535 Mistral, a sort of hot rodded Vampire. Half a Misterkit nee Heller Tempest V with a Venturer Tempest 1 tail grafted on as the prototype Tempest V HM595. & that about does it from me. Steve. 16
Jur Posted January 16 Posted January 16 Some of my previous Heller builds: There is an interloper here, the Dewoitine (bottom right) isn't a Heller kit but a KP one. 15
TonyW Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I got a bit carried away during the last Heller GB. With a bit of luck I'll do the same in this one. 15 7
Andwil Posted January 17 Posted January 17 I don’t have many Heller models in my collection, here are three I bull many years back. Don’t look too closely, I hope my abilities have improved over the years. SAAB Viggen Bloch 152 (Smer re-box) Bell P-39Q AW 11
Marklo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 1/72 Me109k in Yougoslavian markings. In its day a ground breaking kit. 1/72 Mig21F converted to a North Vietnamese PF this one took me thirty years to complete. 1/100 Mirage III in Pakistan colours 1/144 A10 Warthog not entirely sure if this one counts as a Classic 13
Toryu Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Bf 109F-4/Trop 1./JG 27 Ain el Gazala, Libya November 1941 Heller Classic GB 2020 More here 13
Brigbeale Posted January 18 Posted January 18 While I was building my Heller F-86 Sabre(s), Mark @2996 Victor, suggested I add the photos here when I was done, so here they are. One has a very apt name for this GB as it was flown by Major EL Heller and the F-86 was named Hell-er Bust X. The Canadair Sabre is from a box of 50 models I bought and I added the undercarriage and missing stabilaiser. The Alpha Jet as built alongside a Fouga Magister (both in Patrouille De France colours), but the Magister is an Airfix kit so doesn’t really belong here. 11 1

Thanks so much for adding the Sabres, and also the Alpha Jet! All are fabulous models and they show what can be done with these old but good kits. "Hell-er Bust" is a brilliant scheme and spot on for the GB! Thanks again! Mark 1
Galligraphics Posted January 20 Posted January 20 I believe this is the only Heller model that I made that is still in one piece - Spitfire Mk XVI built about 45? years ago... If I recall it was pretty much the best 1/72 Spitfire kit available at that time. 10 2

If I recall it was pretty much the best 1/72 Spitfire kit available at that time. That’s held up well for 45 years. I have a Matchbox Hurricane IIC which I built 40 odd years ago and still has the paint and decals I originally put on it . It’s my most treasured model. Edited January 20 by Brigbeale 2
Romeo Alpha Yankee Posted January 26 Posted January 26 My meagre collection of Heller kits... 1/48 Mirage IIIB/C converted to a RAAF IIID 1/72 Mirage IV And one that should have been finished years ago, started in 2020. I will get around to it one day.... 1/72 Boeing E-3A Another from the shelf of doom 1/72 Boeing 707 started early last year 12 2
rob Lyttle Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Here's my Talbot Lago T26 racer, The figures aren't Heller of course. They're heavily beefed up crew from the big Revell Spad biplane listed as 1.28 scale 9
rob Lyttle Posted February 3 Posted February 3 This, fellow Helleristes, is the first kit produced by this revered brand. The Sud Caravelle airliner in 1.100 scale, Issued contemporary with the aircraft itself to celebrate the launch of France's pride and joy on the world of civil aviation. 1957 if memory serves. Mine is done as the 2nd prototype (the 1st airframe had several differences) F-BHHI with the Sud Aviation logo on the tail. This one is a reissued kit, a faithful reproduction of the original including decals, box art, instructions and all the tricky bits 😀 10 1
