Wm Blecky Posted January 1 Posted January 1 Could someone tell me if Beaufort would have used the same type of propeller blade and hub/spinner as the Blenheim? TIA.
Graham Boak Posted January 1 Posted January 1 As the Taurus was more powerful, I suspect not. Unless you mean the manufacturer?

Wm Blecky Posted January 1 Author Posted January 1 (edited) Thanks fellas. I came across these pictures of RCAF Beauforts and thought that the spinners, props and hubs bore a striking resemblence to those of a Blenheim, which led me to the original question: Blenheim: My thought was to use a set of Blenheim props from SBS model to replace the Airfix kit's parts. Geoffrey Sinclair Posted January 2 Posted January 2 The MAP reports as of January 1943, De Havilland Cam propellers for Blenheim V model 4/7, for Beaufort I models 5/19 and 5/44, when it comes to reporting stocks the propellers for the Blenheim I (Mercury VIII) and IV (Mercury XV) are reported separately, as is the Blenheim V (Mercury 30). The Beaufort I was using the AX 6/1 CSU, the Blenheim V the BX 4/1. No mention of propellers for the Twin Wasps installed in the Beaufort II. The US FAA reports the Beaufort used the Curtiss-Wright C-5325-D propeller, along with the PB2Y, A-25, SB2C and FM-2. The RCAF reports they received 15 Beaufort I starting in August 1941. Bolingbroke production consisted of 17 mark I and 1 mark III with Mercury VIII, 593 mark IV, IVC, IVT with Mercury XV and 15 Mark IVW with SB4G Wasp Junior. The IVW were RCAF 9005 and 9010 to 9023. The Canadian Department of Munitions and Supply reports as of 1 October 1942 the Bolingbroke program involved at least the ordering of 34+11 (install + spare) Mercury VIII, 1,088+290 Mercury XV, 30+10 SB4G Twin Wasp Jr, 0+180 Wright G3B GR1820, 242+4 De Havilland propellers, 66 "Br.Const.", 814+203 "Overseas Req.", 30+174 Hamilton 30-40, 0+215 Hamilton 23-E-50 propellers. 2
