History Maker Scale Models Posted January 30 Posted January 30 I fancy the Panzer 1 from last year. I can't see anything for this year. I don't build a lot of tamiya because I don't enjoy them. They go together too easily. But I've recently looked at the Somua and another french tank 1
IT_Man Posted January 30 Posted January 30 They did announce the Hotchkiss H39, which will go nicely in my collection - link from UK Importer website: https://www.hobbyco.net/tamiya/tamiya-military/tamiya-1-35-military-1/1-3-35-french-light-tank-h39-35389

I'd imagine it's hiding out in the same place as the 1/48 F-16A, B and D kits that everyone assumed Tamiya would release to follow their F-16C. Just like the F-16s, I doubt that any other Tamiya 1/48 F-4s will ever see the light of day! 1 1
Supertom Posted January 31 Posted January 31 Hmm. I'd half-expected the F-35C to come out in 1/72 as well. Maybe next year. 1

Rob Sutto Posted February 2 Posted February 2 I'm delighted to see the Audi Quattro is being re-popped as they go for silly money on ebay Hopefully they might follow it up next year with the rally version like they did with the recent Renault 5 releases.

If you look closely in the catalogue, on the 1/72 scale aircraft page, you will notice 2 blank spots. In the 2024 catalogue there was only 1 blank spot, later taken up by the B version. So I am expecting to see the C version released at the Shizuoka model show in May. Fingers crossed. The more intriguing question is what are they planning to release for the 2nd blank spot Edited February 2 by Roel_D 2

Flying Pancake Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Shoot I'm still waiting for 72nd scale versions of their 1/48 P-38 kits. The 35's came after and you already have two in 72. Still zero P-38's in 72 from Tamiya... 1 3

The two are intertwined. I'm guessing that 1:32 Tamiya jets are all but dead or dwindling. Would love a reissue of some of them. Tony 1
Wayne Bull Posted February 4 Posted February 4 I'm still waiting for more tamiya bf 109 G versions ,the way the kit is done as well as the panels ect that are there for later versions but have to filled for the G-6 ,points to them haveing some sort of development plan but like the F-4'S and other's they dont seem to want to make money or score those open goals ,but thats Tamiya . Yet we get every version of the bloody f-35 . Yes i dislike the f-35 it just is so bland . Now a really nice F-89 😉 would be so good from them or they could really steal a great idea and do a Spitfire MK 12/Seafire 15 or a mk 14 .But i wont hold my breath ,i'm likley to turn into a smurf before those thing would be released 1
Andrés S. Posted February 4 Posted February 4 Dreaming, or asking Tamiya to do it, is free so I'd be happy with a 1/72 P-47N as I can't find the Sword one or if I can it's at an absurdly high price. I'm sure a rescaling of their P-38 to 1/72 would be fabulous, but I think I can live with the J I have from Academy and the F-5C from RS (Academy plus extras). Andrés.

Hello Andrés, you can try and convert the bubbletop -D. If you have a 3D printer moreover, Jumpei Tenma designed some parts that help a lot in the conversion work 1

If you have a 3D printer moreover, Jumpei Tenma designed some parts that help a lot in the conversion work Hi steh2o. I tried to modify the Revell D (which I consider acceptable although far from the Tamiya one but cheaper) by buying 2 to modify the wing by adding the central area of one of them. But once in my hands I left it because I was not sure that "it would look good", especially taking into account that the model would be finished in NMF and it is known that with it the tolerances must be 0. Can you tell me a little more, or give details of what you have commented, please? Andrés.
steh2o Posted February 4 Posted February 4 https://soyuyo.main.jp/p47rb/p47rb.html#bottom in this article you can find everything's needed for an accurate P-47, at the end of it you find a library of 3D printable items The same Jumpei converted a 1/48th scale Tamiya to P-47N, but it was well before making serious drawings of it https://soyuyo.main.jp/p47n/p47ngall.html (you'll need some serious google translator for these😉 unless you speak japanese) 1 1

Are there any “blank spots” for 1/48 aircraft? I’m not able to view the 2025 catalogue. Rich

keithjs Posted February 4 Posted February 4 (edited) Yes, you can still get the Mk.VI albeit quite expensive (Hannants still have some at an eyewatering £220.) but it was tooled if I remember to produce a Mk.IV in the future? Edited February 4 by keithjs

Rich I am afraid I don’t have the catalogue either . In my previous post, I was referencing the link posted by @Homebee that shows excerpts from the catalogue. The full catalogue should be available by the end of the month and I am sure we will see reviews of it online shortly after. Sorry for not having a better answer. 1
