Richard Humm Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 Well, a 998 cc V4 engined motorbike isn't the quietest thing around... 16 1 1
bianfuxia Posted December 30, 2024 Posted December 30, 2024 I feel like there are a few of these getting a workout late at night on the long highway near my place! 😂 When I first moved here I was like WHAT ON GODS GREEN EARTH IS THAT but now I sleep right through it! Welcome aboard! 3
Richard Humm Posted January 8 Author Posted January 8 I thought I'd get the sprue photos up early. Quite a lot of parts for a smallish model. 9
HarryHobbyin Posted January 9 Posted January 9 you got me at "give noise a chance" Really looking forward to this Build. Motorcycle builds " HELL YaH " plus its a Ducati which i Luv. 1
Richard Humm Posted January 12 Author Posted January 12 The engine block is pretty large - the helmet that came with the Honda Dax gives an idea of scale. It still needs some detail painting, a couple of decals and a little weathering. 11
Richard Humm Posted February 18 Author Posted February 18 (edited) About time I got back to this! I got the engine finished and added a bit of black panel liner to bring out the detail - motorbike engines don't usually stay clean, after all. The rear damper was also added to the back of it. I assembled the chain and painted it, again adding some panel liner to get it looking oily, and also got the frame and swing arm together. The engine then got screwed into the frame and the chain fitted into the swing arm. Hopefully more tomorrow. Edited February 18 by Richard Humm 8
Richard Humm Posted February 20 Author Posted February 20 Some more work done - the rear wheel assembly, though the tyre decals weren't easy to get on. The swing arm attached to the frame And the chain guard and a few other bits attached, 10
Keeff Posted February 21 Posted February 21 While I'm not a motorcyclist, I do like them and there's something about the Ducatti 'growl'. Great build .... nice work so far! Keith ☺️ 1
Richard Humm Posted March 31 Author Posted March 31 About time I updated this The next thing to do was the exhaust And then it got fitted Along with a few bits on either side, like the foot rest and stand. The radiator was built up next and added in front of the engine Next up was the dashboard or whatever you call it these days Which is where it is at the moment. However, there should be a bit more in the next few days. 8
Richard Humm Posted April 2 Author Posted April 2 Another smallish update - the headlights are now on. 5
bianfuxia Posted April 5 Posted April 5 you've made great progress on this since I last dropped by - looking really good!
Richard Humm Posted April 22 Author Posted April 22 Moving on - the next thing to do was make up the front forks and wheel And with that on, it looks rather like a bike. Some people say you should undercoat red items in pink And it does seem to work There were some decals to go on to those bits After which they went on to the bike, along with a few more little bits and it was finished. I'll post a few more photos in the Gallery 7 2
bianfuxia Posted April 22 Posted April 22 Great work! And also welcome to the GB's "red paint job" club! You've done a fine effort with this bike, it looks awesome. Thank you for participating! 1
