Hi all,

my final completion of the year, done in the past couple of days for the annual Blitzenbuild event. Total build time for this rig was 23 hours. I don't do "shiny" that often so I focused on the painting mainly. Some flaws, of course, for instance in the final rush I dropped something on the hood, superglue side down of course. It almost buffed out. Also, the spare wheel in the bed hides a fender locating hole that I drilled out a little too enthusiastically from the outside. But that's Blitzbuilding, it's all in the game 🙂

When looking for a paint scheme for this lovely old truck I came across the orange and black and loved it from the start. I used only rattlecans for the build, TS-14 Black and for the body it's TS-73 Clear Orange over TS-12 Orange with a TS-13 clearcoat. Chrome is all Alclad. The wooden look in the bed comes from decals that you can use for the service truck option this kit gives you, there are boards that you can use to heighten the bed sides.

This is the kit.

And my take on it.

A shot of the interior, I never manage to get that right.

Here it is before it went in. There were no decals for the dials so I had to paint them, I did amaze myself there a little bit with how that turned out.

In true Blitzbuild fashion, the seat is now loose inside the cab....

Thanks for watching and have a great 2025!

A fabulous model, as is to be expected of you.  Very impressed with the instrument dials!  Well done.

Great model of a brutish looking truck!  Well finished and detailed as usual, especially the interior.  How you have the patience and dexterity beats me.

Nice to see you doing a shiny build :) I think the colour scheme works really well too, a great contrast between the black and the orange.

As for photgraphing the interior, I also find that almost impossible to get right unless you're building a convertible - it's that trying to get a shot through the side window which causes all the complications, especially when the window is smaller than the camera lens!

Great work @JeroenS that’s honestly a beautiful orange, it reminds me of the continental orange that’s nearly impossible to find via can for the jagermeister porsche! I think I’ll try it on a spoon next spraying season.

Thanks, yes definitely worth a try. It's a nice deep orange. Doesn't take much of the clear orange, a thin layer is enough.

That two tone scheme looks fantastic. The whitewalls suit the paintwork perfectly as well. A real dudes truck.

That's simply stunning Jeroen, beautiful paintjob in an excellent colour scheme, really great work - especially so when done so quickly!
