Looking back the year is better modelling wise than expected, especially considering a professional(?) work load that has been far too much more than once this year...

First completed I think was this 1/24 scale Renault 12 Gordini from Tour de Corse 1975. The build is based on a completely dismantled and modified die cast Dacia 1300 model, using a batch of 3D-drawn and printed parts, some scrap box parts and decals from a few different sheets. WIP - RFI

At the same time I built this 1/24 1973 Renault 12 Break as the one my father bought new in ‘73. It is also based on dismantled and rebuilt die cast models, actually two Dacia 1300 models were used, and a batch of specially 3D-drawn and printed parts. WIP - RFI

Yet another dismantle-rebuild from a 1/24 die cast base followed, creating a model of my own 1980 Renault 30TX from a Dacia 2000. 3D-drawn and printed wheels and head lights, cutting the sun roof and vac forming the wind deflector is some of the work. WIP- RFI

Next the Pininfarina Ferrari 250/P5 from the Geneva Show 1968. A 1/24 scale resin kit from SMP24, with some added wiring and plumbing to the engine. Yes, I did 3D-draw and print the fuel injection metering unit... WIP - RFI

This 1/24 scale 2018 Alpine kit entered my house as nothing more than a set of downloaded 3D-files created by “3DVM”, liquid resin, clear pet-g material, clear decal film and masking paper. It’s 3D-printed, vac forms pulled, decals printed and windows masks cut at home. It’s possible. WIP - RFI

An ancient Merit kit from the late ‘50s meeting today’s 3D CAD and printer, and some old school scratch work. The 1955 Cooper MkIX T36 with a Norton Manx 500 engine. Again 1/24 scale. Built as it appears in current days historic racing. WIP - RFI

While working on some other project I opened in the “Made in Ukraine” GB with this Citroën DS19 Pedal Car, in 1/24 scale, straight from the box. Nothing 3D-printed! A resin kit from USCP. WIP - RFI

A Ginetta G4 in 1/24 scale must have been the next one finished. Built from an old resin (trans)kit by Japanese maker “Hobby House Star Dust”. Once again I used 3D CAD and printer to create parts to finish it. WIP - RFI

As I’m a bit of a speed freak I like to do a Land Speed Record car if possible. FPPM provided the 1/24 scale resin kit to build the Lockhart Stutz Black Hawk from Daytona Beach in 1928. Yes, I did 3D-draw and print a few small steering components... WIP - RFI

Surprise, not only cars. With such a quick first build in the “Made in Ukraine” GB I had to build another model. The choice landed on the awesome looking de Havilland DH.88 Comet and the 1/48 kit from Mikro Mir. A challenge for sure, but I really enjoyed the build. And indeed, I did 3D-draw and print the missing two rocker covers and the small counter weights. WIP - RFI

That’s my 2024. Unless I manage to squeeze something out of the Christmas Blitzenbuild...

Edit: one more completed thanks to the Blitzenbuild, this Revell 1/1200 kit of the Hurtigruten crusing ship MS Midnatsol, built in just under 24 hours. WIP - RFI

An absolutely fabulous collection, with such variety. The quality of the finish and attention to detail almost goes without saying, but I’m gonna say it anyway: well done! I’m not going to pick favourites — they are all lovely. But I will say well done on hanging onto to that ancient and iconic size reference. Most of all though, I’d like to thank you for your ongoing inspiration and online companionship through this forum; a kindred spirit…

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and yours!

best,

M.

While I remember all of these except the pedal car and plane, I hadn't realised you'd done quite so many. Given the exceptionally high standards of all your builds (and the photos don't show all the hard work which is apparent int he RFI threads), to reach double figures is a massive achievement.

Magnificent models Jörgen, every single one of them - but that TdC Renault 12 is one of my all time favourite car models - and I'd still be happy to give it a new home...!! 🤣

Really enjoyed all of your build threads too, really inspiring to watch such excellent models taking shape!

I don't get to the group build forums much so missed the pedal car build - what a brilliant little thing! - and the Comet - stunning model of a beautiful aeroplane!

Merry Christmas and a very Happy New Year to you and yours :)

What an amazing collection of builds.  They look fantastic. Love the Ginetta particularly.   The cars have a certain real quality to them . Absolutely superb.

You've got a cracking group of builds under your belt for 2024, Jorgen, and all built to a really high standard :)
