I’d like to get the P-3 and hopefully someone will do VP-60 and VP-90 from Glenview N.A.S. Chicago. I dont recognize the APC/mini-tank ? Is it Korean or somebody else's production ?

cvrle Posted December 22, 2024 Posted December 22, 2024 Great for the UH-1Y... I would really like them to scale down the -1Z and -1Y down to 1/72. The Dream Models ones are a bit too expensive for my liking... 1 2

Sprue Picker Posted January 7 Posted January 7 If it's a nice kit-I won't mind paying more for this in 1/35! Hopefully we'll see a nice CH-53 IN 1/35 eventually as well-it's long overdue!
Corey in Colorado Posted January 7 Posted January 7 (edited) It would be nice if they rereleased the 1/48 CH-53E! Someone, somewhere else posted that the sponson sprues for the E had been damaged and that’s why we’ve only seen MH-53 releases. Hope that’s not true! Edited January 7 by Corey in Colorado 1

This is news to me (but that does not mean alot) - it would explain the lack of CH rereleases. But it should be not a big deal for aftermarked companies to jump in?
Homebee Posted January 13 Author Posted January 13 (edited) Academy has announced a special one shot Emart (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emart) exclusive repop from three Zvezda's 1/144th Boeing aircraft kits. Ad-4N Posted February 2 Posted February 2 Always surprised Academy does not release more of the old Hobbycraft kits. Like the C-7, Otter, CF-105 and Dash 8. Sure, they’re not Tamiya level kits, but no one else is going to issue them. The tooling is paid for and they are just sitting there. And, warts and all, they command good prices on auction sites. Puzzling.

Puzzling. I don't think Academy made those, they were quite different from the kits that Academy made for Hobbycraft (for example the Sabres). IIRC the CF-105 at some point appeared in the Kitech catalogue but this may have just been a clone, like all Kitech kits...
AlbertLima Posted February 3 Posted February 3 Hobbycraft did not solely rebox Academy kits - the DHC-4 in particular was either tooled up and produced, or somehow cloned by Idea and/or Kitech - both companies' releases of the DHC-4 had the same Hobbycraft copyright on the sprues: https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.570942650362166&type=3&comment_id=571674226955675 http://www.aircraftresourcecenter.com/Gal12/11001-11100/gal11026-Caribou-Ng/00.shtm If you're somewhat adept at navigating Chinese ecommerce sites there's some sort of successor company to CC XF/CC Lee that's willing to sell you the Humvee kit Hobbycraft reboxed as the "Liberator" - it's a worse overall version of Academy's M1025 with optional motorization. The same company also is still doing production runs of the 1/144 F-20, F-16XL, F-15, F-4E and F/A-18s Hobbycraft reboxes as theirs
