Potsie Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 This is Aoshima's Nissan Fairlady Z Version NISMO Japanese patrol car; kit #053868. I picked this kit up cheap at my LHS as a way of getting the Nismo version of the 350Z, only to discover when I opened the box at home that the model is pre-painted in the black-on-white patrol car scheme. Not only that but the dermacation line is crisp and lines up well across all pieces. The front and rear bumpers are separate, as are the little wheel arch add-ons. So patrol car it was! I resisted the urge to do a drift-boi special (smoked rising sun on the bonnet?) and went out of the box. Interior is simple shades of black and dark grey, chassis various metal colours. The kit comes with separate chrome light buckets and coloured rear lenses. For this particulat kit there was a sprue in the clear red that had the roof light bar, some interior pieces like a mobile phone and the two cones. A nice simple build that looks good on the shelf among other Japanese vehicles. I am not sure if the other Aoshima patrol cars come pre-painted, but I think they would make an interesting fleet as there is quite a variety. Grant. 14
HOUSTON Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Ooh that's Really GOOD.. I recently went to Japan and saw a few of these patrol cars. You've done a fabulous job of creating the real one. PERFECTION. Kudos. 1
SnøMotion Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Ooh, interesting! I was looking at this kit the other day. That paint is spot on 👌 You always seem to make a simple floor pan look nicely detailed and this build is no exception It’s a great looking model Those cones are crazy! Martin 1 1
HK-500 Posted December 9, 2024 Posted December 9, 2024 Our "gendarmes" have access to Alpine's last model , but this one is also very cool ! You did a really fine job 1
Potsie Posted December 10, 2024 Author Posted December 10, 2024 Thanks all for the positive comments. This was a surprisingly enjoyable kit to build and I was very impressed by Aoshima's pre-painting. I admit to alawys avoiding Aoshima's pre-painted kits - a hobby shop in Sydney had pre-painted Lamborghini Aventador kits for $25AUD that I passed on!! If they are all this quality I would have no qualms with getting another. Mind you, the black and white colour scheme makes cleaning up sprue joins easy. So tempting to create a fleet of Japanese patrol cars, but I have way too many 'collections' within my stash as is! Grant. 1 1
Bobby No Mac Posted December 12, 2024 Posted December 12, 2024 Nice, I've got a soft spot for the esoteric stuff Aoshima put out 1
FunkyChiken Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Looks great, its an impressively crisp split line between the black and white on the body. 1
Davi Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Nice work, and if your Japanese is a bit rusty, every now and then you'll have a surprise with these kits 😉 1
