I had a large stock of Zvezda 777-300s and the last one,I did not just want to make another -300,also due to display space problems...

I had a f-dcal 777-200 set in my stash, that I once received with a decal lot I won at sn auction.

So,I decided to convert the Zezda kit to a -200 version.

The cuts are simple to do and the following build is also straight forward.

I cut off the raked wing tips to make a regular -200 and not an ER version.

The raked wingtips are now in the spares box for my planned 767-400.

The decals are good to use and fit quite well.

The only downside is,that the GE engine logos are printed with a blue backing,so matching the color is tricky.

I used Revell 54 blue for the belly and engines, which came closest to a match.

The white is Gunze  white primer 1500,coated with Gunze premium gloss.

As I saw many pictures of the BA 777s being quite dirty,I decided to weather it more than I ususlly do.In some places I think, it should have been less, but overall I am happy with the end result.

Cheers

Alex

Lovely work, I do like the world design tails, have a nice creative look to them.

Thank you very much.

Yes,the world tails were a cool idea, not everyone seemed to be equally enthusiastic back then...

Looks great Alex.

I've got the same model / decals in progress but the latter have some issues re accuracy / design on the fuselage side particularly and I've been working with Matt @Back in the Saddle to remedy them.

I really must get mine finished.

I’m hoping to get some revised and improved decals over to you soon!👍

Alex, how on earth did you get yours to fit? The ones Mike and I are working on are not even close to fitting correctly…

Great looking 777!👍

Beautiful work Alex. This illustrates your point about BA 777s being dirty and shows that you certainly haven't overdone the weathering!

As I've said before, I wasn't sure if I liked the BA World tails until I discovered how much Margaret Thatcher hated them. I immediately became a confirmed fan and I was sorry when BA succumbed to Chatham blandness.

Thank you very much.

The fin decal worked quite well, the tail piece needed some trimming and adjusting.

I used pieces of the cutted off decals to fill the gaps and match the design.

I did not find them too distracting.

Maybe f-dcal re-issued a new set which is ill-designed ?

Mine was quite old, 2004 or a bit older if I remember correctly.

Your triple look splendid. And trust me, the majority of them are far dirtier than yours ! BA presently has a ripe old bunch of dirty girls doing the rounds.

If I had a £pound for every time a BA -200 flew over my house I'd be a millionaire by now.

Your GE's look great and so incredibly powerful up against the shorter variant.

Another really beautiful piece of work from the never ending production line
