This is a long shot on something that I don't think has made it before. A B-29 Family build. I know it's big. I mean REALLY big. but hear me out. here are all kinds of variations to consider. you have the normal B-29, Silverplate(Nuclear) Super dumbo, Air/Sea rescue, Transport(C-97), commercial ( Boeing 377 Stratocruiser), C-97 air refuel, and of course the B-50 and ALL its versions. But wait there's MORE!  THe Soviet TU-4 Bull and The Chinese Kong Jiang-1 AWACS for good measure, If I've forrgotten any versions, no matter how obscure, Let me know. PLus to make it easier I figure there are more than a few that have started one of these and never finished. just sitting on the Shelf of Doom, collecting dust. So NO 25% Rule. Not quite ready for finish is definitely welcome. Any brave souls out there ready for a BIG challenge?

Brave good sir … If you can get this one up I will build one. I want to build a B-29, KB-29, KB-50, WB-50, KC-97, and a 377 someday.  Doubt I ever will get all of them so it’s most likely going to be one of these B-29, KC-97, or 377. More from cost and lack of display space than anything else ?

Well then I shall add your name forthwith and together with some more, many, many more, stalwartindividuals of like mind( translation: totally and completely whacked) we'll get this old BAB( I'll leave it to you all to figure out the alphabet soup, But it does start with Big and end is with Bird.) across the finish for the win. PLus there is the XB-39 version that had supersized allison inline engines as a proof of concept.

I'm just enough of a silly so-and-so to try that one.:blink2:

Great idea Loren. Please add me to the list.

A B-29 has been on my to build for ages now although I’ve no idea where I would put the finished model?

Hmm a B-377 you say? Think there's only the Welsh Models one, but it's quirky enough; go on then!

Would trough a B-29 mothership in (with Bell X-1). 🙈 The only reasonable thing about it: It is not 1:48 scale...

Rene

Any scale is fine, You build it they will come. Welcome aboard!

Hi Loren. I'm in. I could continue my Big Pig, the Airfix B-29 resurrection, or I could (and I have said this before) be stoopid and build the Monogram 1/48 kit I have.

Cheers,

Chris.

I’d definitely go for a B29 so long as it’s 1/144.

So a question, would the Soviet clone qualify?

Absolutely Marklo. I forgot that one. The Washington Mk1 is included along with the Chinese AWACS also.

Cheers,

Oh B-29 family is such a controversial theme! Are Tu-95MS, Tu-134 and Boeing-737MAX10 forming a part of the family?

Unfortunately no. With the exception of the Tu-4, for this proposal, it's pretty much Boeing B-29 and it's variants

Well I've added you to the list so when the time comes "if you maybe" in the neighborhood you have a spot to land. Welcome aboard as well!

@LorenSharp if by some miracle this one makes it to a build slot, do you need a co-host ? If so I’m willing to jump in and help.

I sure could Dennis. Having been involved in hosting 3, or was it 4 GB/STGBs ,I forget, from Dec of 23 to Jan of this year , which by and large all overlapped ,left  me a bit wiped out.  I could use all the help I can get. Thank you for offering.
