Hi All,

Does anyone know of any decent references for the supermarine Southampton in terms of interior details and engine / close ups as what I’ve found so far is quite vague, also things like pilots manuals in the past have been very useful.

I know Raf museum hendon has a fuselage that you can see but it’s some of the more hidden areas that I’m wondering if reference material is around?

thanks

James

If you go to the Seawings website you can find this manual, which I'll paste in to save the effort. The site has loads of info on other flying boats, and a few photos of both marks of Southampton but nothing of the internals. This manual is mostly text but there are some useful photos at the end, including one of the seat and control wheel arrangement.

Greek modeller Megas Tsonos scratch built a large scale Southampton I which was the 'Best in Show' at Telford a few years back.

Google his name to find some photos and FB page. Think he often had help from the RAF Museum with info for his models.

I don't know what the photos show, but I've just ordered this
