Redstaff Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I'll add to the post even though I've not received it yet, but it is on order. The Studio 27 transkit to convert one of Tamiyas 99Ts into the 98T 6
SnøMotion Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 You’ve got to do something with all that 1:35 scale cheese, @JeroenS! 1

Keeff Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I had this arrived last week ahead of the 80's group build ..... One of the original 'Hot Hatches' and a bit bonkers ... The kit looks good 👍 Keith ☺️ 7
Windy37 Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I won this at a reasonable price off the Bay . Gary . 8

Bengalensis Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 A good day today with more than one delivery of resin 😎 First from Portugal, a new kit from FPPM; 1939 Maserati 8CTF And then the new Espace F1 kit from Crest Factor, and some paint as well. 7 2
ceeb555 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 A couple of lovely kits. Really looking forward to your build of the Espace F1. I love the colour, shape and everything about it Chris 1
SnøMotion Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Love the Espace F1!! Can't wait to see how that comes together Martin 1 1
FridayAgain Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) My 1/12th scale Lotus 77 from Model Factory Hiro came in today, very exciting kit and a gorgeous car. Team Lotus has always been my favourite F1 team alongside Tyrrell, so I'm very excited to work on this kit in the future, however I've currently got a Ferrari 1512 from Hiro in progress, so I'm afraid this kit has to go on the stack for now. Neddy Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 For a long while I've wanted one of these but their rarity has meant that pricing is daft money, but last week I happened on one that had only just been posted online at a charity Ebay site for a Hospice in York. The price was £39 including carriage and I couldn't hit the Buy Now button quick enough... It's the 2014 release from Round2models so I have my fingers crossed over the kit quality but at last I have one I can attempt to build. I'm dreading the decals but it'll be worth the effort I reckon to produce a model of what was probably the finest of George Barris' custom creations. 10 2
SnøMotion Posted December 1, 2024 Posted December 1, 2024 Amazing, @Neddy! I look forward to seeing that get built Just hope it treats you better than the Cobra did 🤞 Martin 1 1
TonyW Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 (edited) This whopper turned up here this morning... Johans 1976 Cadillac Eldorado two door. The molded in license plate tag says 1976 but the 74 and 75 were almost the same. A snap kit with a low parts count but the shape looks spot on to me. Derived from dealer promo models, I'm really happy to have one. The last of a dying breed, the full size yank tanks were on the way out at this point. We won't see the like again. There's not much chance of me ever owning the real deal, even if I wanted a Caddie over a '68 Charger or some other big block period car. The single figure mileage kills them all for me now. Models will have to do. I had a '63 Galaxie that I put a 460 in. It would never do more than 8 or 9 to the gallon. The Cadillac range had more weight to lug about and a strangled 500 CID engine to pull it all. That's eight litres! I doubt one would do more than 7 or eight at the most. History seems to be repeating itself now, with SUV types getting to the point of complete overkill, much like the seventies American barges. Too much weight, far too big and expensive. This time around they haven't got the shape or style of the old stuff to rely on any nostalgic attachment to them. We are watching the end of an era here... Edited December 2, 2024 by TonyW 7

I looked at that one, but then I saw who was selling it... I think he got it here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/395832170100

I wish I had spotted that one earlier though. 1

That's what I would have assumed, but the glass also has a great big hole in the same place if you look at the assembly diagram on the box. 1
Neddy Posted December 3, 2024 Posted December 3, 2024 Ejector seat? (Well, someone had to say it...) 1

You've got the makings of a very nice Pimpmobile right there. Pink flocked upholstery and dash, purple metallic paint job with a white roof and a couple of "Superfly" decals and its a done deal. Just sayin'. 5

Pink flocked upholstery and dash, purple metallic paint job with a white roof and a couple of "Superfly" decals and its a done deal. Just sayin'. Nah, this ones a dentist or doctors car, one who won't buy an import. You must be thinking of the ever so slightly more garish MPC Pontiac Superfly... The stock car as built by Pontiac was no shrinking violet though. There's a thread dedicated to the abomination here... https://www.modelcarsmag.com/forums/topic/134740-grand-superflysweathogs-grand-prix/ It's worth remembering that Airfix did the same with their 1.32 range. The Cortina, Zodiac and Capri were 'improved' in the same fashion. There's something I like about the last of the full size American iron, the sheer excess of them is captivating. Everything was going wrong with US cars at the time, the dream was becoming a nightmare. I've just hit the button on a '76 Caprice so it seems the things are muscling into my build program. I see that as a plus. 6 1
