Neddy Posted May 17 Posted May 17 Blimey, it's a miracle it hasn't fallen apart by now - those Farina-bodied BMCs rusted away with frightening speed starting at the sills, bottoms of the doors and front wings. 1 2

My late dad learnt to drive in a light blue one with me sat on the back seat - seemed bags of room in there to a six year old sliding side to side on every bend and roundabout...!! 🤣 Keith 5 2

Farmer matt Posted May 18 Author Posted May 18 Well spotted, didn't notice the rings! It is driveway-bound anyhow, or should be. Matt

However, much as I like that and the Galaxie, there is a small weird part of me also drawn to what looks like a Bedford HA van in the background of the X1-9 pic 1

Turns out the Clarion is quite local to me, so will keep an eye out now Chris
Windy37 Posted May 19 Posted May 19 @bigbadbadge Shouldn't the Clarion be a Starion ? I used to love these back in the day , especially the later ones with quattro esq flared wheel arches . Gary 1 1

Gary Yes you're right, I was looking in the garage today and came across a box for an old Clarion car stereo, 😄 will correct now. Chris 2

Chris Not PC but back in the day the rumour was that the name Starion was selected because the Japanese wanted a 'pony car'. 1 1 2

Blacque Jacque Posted May 22 Posted May 22 Out & about in the camper at the weekend & saw a banana yellow C3 Corvette, post '74 with the plastic protuberances at each end, a sky blue 60s Caddillac I think, the same Maserati Quattroporte (obviously lives locally) & then finally this OverWeight Range Rover at the Coop; 4
Ben Brown Posted May 22 Posted May 22 A guy at my gym has this 944 Turbo that he drives pretty regularly. I think the 944 and 924 Carrera GT are two of the prettiest cars Porsche has produced. If I didn't already have a '23 Subaru BRZ in my garage, I'd be looking for one of these. I don't think I can justify having two sports cars to my wife. Ben 12 1

I was once offered a black 944 Lux which had a damaged lower front bumper, but was otherwise immaculate and had low miles - for £1000....!! Stupidly I didn't want to mess with replacing the bumper so passed on it !! 23 minutes ago, Ben Brown said: I think the 944 and 924 Carrera GT are two of the prettiest cars Porsche has produced. I certainly agree with that, love both of those but both (especially the latter!) are now way out of reach financially! Keith 3 1
