I had to double check online to make sure it wasn't supposed to be wood either and that my memory wasn't playing tricks on me 😂

Love the reg plate on the Landie!

Comes back as a 1978 so could be its original plate, long before either abbreviation was commonplace.

Also it should be blue.

So did I but I didn't want to admit it!

(I was looking on my laptop so no small screen excuse for me! 🤣 )

And I was looking at it in real life! Although I tried being as brief as possible, not wanting to be too intrusive looking closely or touching a stranger’s rear 🙃

The Delta Integrale - such a cool car.  Definitely top of the "I want one" list.

Yeah the Integrale was an instant classic. I've never had the pleasure of driving one, I remember the stir they caused in the press at the time though. They still look good!

A poor shot as it got boxed in whilst I was grabbing the camera, but a 2009 Ford Flex Limited, something I have not seen before.

Early this afternoon in Newark, Notts, An early sixties Alvis. Silver and in dire need of a wash and scrub up, I got the idea that it gets regular use.

I gave the driver a thumbs up and got one in return. I have a feeling I also saw it there a few years ago and reported it in a similar condition.

Link below to a pic of an Alvis. Not the one I saw, but still a lovely design IMHO.

I'll post some more later, but here's star of today's Race Retro; the unique Leonard MG, built in 1955 and raced the following year by Chris Bristow. In beautiful, original, barn-find condition.

I saw another (see my posts on the previous SOTD thread I think...) Ford Model A. this time a roadster with the back cut off to make a small flat-bed truck.

This one was on a full registration, which is unusual,

In the great state of Queensland (jokes on a postcard not mailed to me, thanks) you can get a club registration, which means limited annual mileage and you have to be either testing the vehicle or on a club run to be on the public road.

If the vehicle meets the roadworthy requirements for the year of manufacture indicated by the chassis number/VIN, for a little extra cost you can get normal registration and drive the vehicle with no restrictions.

For a Model A that would mean functional headlights, two red taillights (I think) and a single red brake light right of centre. You might also require a windscreen wiper of some sort, I've seen Austin 7s with single arm hand-cranked wipers so I think anything that vaguely constitutes a wiper is OK.

I'm not sure what's brought on the local prevalence of Model As, although as a basket-case needing restoration they are relatively cheap.

They're also relatively practical if you stay on the back roads- the brakes are adequate for the performance, and most parts are available.

Driving round the Wiltshire/Dorset border this afternoon and spotted this flat-tyred Scimitar needing some TLC:

I've posted pics of an earlier Alvis TC 21 on previous SOTDs, they seem to be very useable everyday drivers.

The 3-litre engine only produces 100 to 115hp depending on the model but they get up and go, no trouble in modern traffic.

Nice to see an Elf out and about.  Nice "posh" Mini, but not as posh as the Wolseley Hornet variant.  Neither are very numerous these days.

Sometimes I like the design of a Porsche:
On this model it is the front with the integration of the headlights in the coachwork. Beautiful.

I'm getting slow, another snatched shot. This made a spirited getaway from the lights, too.

The licence plate says Ford, with an added ?, and Mills Special.
