Graham Boak Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I assumed this was the rerelease of the Superfreighter. 3

Arie Vos Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 No, it either will be a new 1/72 Avro Anson or Fokker F.27 1
Homebee Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) Or a 1/48th scale SEPECAT Jaguar. V.P. Edited November 6, 2024 by Homebee 1 3 1
Denford Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Curious that it's not actually at Telford. Maybe too small for the Banner announcement eg Vulcan, yet not quite ready to display.... 1
ABeck Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Maybe a ship model? 1/350 QE? Will hopes for decent 48th Tornados, Jags EuFis be neglected, or an Allison Pony in 24th ?
tangerine_sedge Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Maybe it's the announcement of the announcement? Airfix Friday : "Tomorrow we will announce 5 new kits at Telford". Airfix Saturday : "We will be releasing the Fairy Fruitbat in 5 exciting new scales, 1:987, 1:74, 1:45, 1:29 & 1:7." 1 14

invidia Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 1/48 hawker fury, to go with last year's bulldog!!! I doubt it but you never know 1
Dave Swindell Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 I'd guess the announcement is timed for Friday 10am as the subject kit is already in the hands of select traders who will be selling it at Telford, and are currently embargoed from advertising it. Once setup starts at Telford it would be difficult to stop news leaking out hence an announcement just before setup starts? 4 7

Maybe too small for the Banner announcement eg Vulcan, yet not quite ready to display.... It was the same with last years Me410, announced on Friday and available at Telford on Saturday. I know of a couple that would be about ready to release and another couple not far behind it will be interesting to see exactly what one is available.

So at least four new mould kits for 2025… excellent news!

Given your location and relative proximity to the Ulster Aviation Society, can we read anything into that? Friday isn’t too far away is it. Regards Tony

Have Airfix even done their market research? It will never sell! Pff. Having recently bought their Luftwaffe bundle and kick started a previously non existent WW2 Luftwaffe collection, I'm hoping for a Ju-88. Whatever it ends up being, let's hope it's a big seller. 2
keithjs Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 (edited) What about another Mk. of the Sea King? Edited November 6, 2024 by keithjs 1
ursa_major Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 As the FAA museum seems to have had its contents comprehensively scanned and a number of new tool kits of their subjects have emerged from it, one noticeable gap is the Wessex.. A large-scale Harvard would be quite nice, a lot of scope for different schemes there. I'm still hoping for a 1/48th new tool Jag though.

Des Posted November 6, 2024 Posted November 6, 2024 Airfix + Surprise = yet another Spitfire variation?
