Jackman Posted November 1, 2024 Posted November 1, 2024 Thanks. I see they are re-releasing the F-2A "KAI" with the CFTs. That F-15DJ tailart looks good too.

VMA131Marine Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Is it just me, or are these announcements from Hasegawa starting to get a little stale? For one thing, how many Mini reboxes can they possibly do? And they keep pushing out their ancient SR-71 kit in new decals. 1 2

Well, there were 5,387,862 Mini's built so I guess we'll be seeing them for a looooooooooong time yet (more seriously, the last BL made series in the 80s and 90s were a bit of a retro item and a big hit in Japan, so it does make sense it features so heavily - it certainly matches the HAsegawa heydays ) 3

No it not just you, for the last ten years, at least, they’ve not produced something new, too whit they’ve relied on sales, thus as far as people keep buying up products they’ll keep ‘trotting out’ past goodies. 😉 2 1

(Though surely even that must now be pretty much saturated with these seemingly endless reissues?) I haven’t bought a Hasegawa kit in well over a decade, nor do I know anyone who's bought one either..... 1 1
gamblor916 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I beg to differ. I have plenty of Hasegawa kits in my stash, most are newer than 10 years. 3 2

Now if Hasegawa would on;ly look at some of their other aircraft in their back catalogue (1/32nd scale P-40's), especially the special schemes they did I would be happy. Robertone139 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 YF-12C, different decals on their obsolete SR-71.

It's a good thing Hasegawa republish old kits, his also Italeri's sort of business and when they add news decals it's a good thing. Edited November 30, 2024 by manuel 3 1

They still make at least one or two new tools a year, which is not out of the ordinary in this business. If Tamiya were to publish these newsletters like Hasegawa does, we'd get tired of it too because they don't release many brand new kits either. 1

Agreed, there's no bigger chore in this hobby than looking for a kit that hasn't been reprinted in ages. 2

However I have bought an F-16 a couple of months ago, along with a weapons set today. They may be almost entirely re-issue’s but they’re still decent kits. 1 1

Moreso because their distribution overseas is poor or non-existent, also there's a tendency overseas to overprice their "Limited Edition" boxings for some reason. 🤐 1

Hasegawa here in the U.S. though is a very common sight. I have two local brick store’s the 1st has approximately 50-60 on the shelves. The 2nd brick store which is further away has more and also stock their Ma.K items. Sprue Brothers online hobby-shop lists 507 items in stock from Hasegawa.

Their distribution can't that bad in Canada. My LHS has a decent stock of their kits. Great Hobbies is a Canadian online shop that's mostly RC but they have 539 of their kits in stock. https://www.greathobbies.com/search/results/?srchtype=AdvSearch&srchimg=0&srchdes=&srchprodid=&srchvendor=HSG&srchlimit=50&srchcat=&srchcatcode=&srchstkstatsort=feat&advsearch=Search 1

I guess that Hasegawa have improved their distribution then. 1
AlbertLima Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 In Malaysia the hobby stores that still carry aircraft models will usually have some Hasegawa products in stock, compared to how supply of Revell kits of anything other than Eurofighter special reboxes and cars have just about dried up. Hasegawa's own limited edition scheme boxings probably do work to nudge those unwilling to commit to buying an aftermarket sheet for just one of the schemes it offers
Robert Posted December 2, 2024 Posted December 2, 2024 I still buy Hasegawa kits, mainly the JASDF special schemes. Regards Robert 2

Now, if you mean 'no new aircraft'... The last three updates however list several new mold kits in each, ranging from figures, sci-fi, cars (1990s Honda Civic 1/24) and a Pachinko machine. But do note that there is actually now a new 1/48 Aichi B7A2 (!) 1
Sprue Picker Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 It would be superb to see them do a 1/72 KC-46 eventually! I know they already do a 1/200 KC-46-that has been out for a while.
Rob Sutto Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 I'll definitely be looking out for new boxing of the early Isuzu 117 Coupe 1
FG2Si Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 (edited) They're finally doing a 1/72 Glaug from Macross! Can't wait for that to come out. Carl Edited December 31, 2024 by FG2Si Spelled Glaug wrong
