Harrysgrandad Posted November 1 Posted November 1 Hi Jon Might I suggest you do a dry fit with the superstructure to check they fit inside the wooden deck edges and sit flush with the plastic deck. I used a Woodhunter deck on Dreadnought and had to trim edges off in quite a few places for the superstructure to sit properly. Some of the problem was the length of time between laying the deck and fitting the superstructure. Somehow, that’s not a problem I think you will have😄😄. Graham 1

I’ve had that experience where the plastic parts don’t touch the deck, if a wooden one is fitted, so I’m fully prepared for a bit of trimming. I’ve dry fitted the main part of the superstructure and it seems to fit snugly into the wood. Jon

Faraway Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 The deck is in place. And I've glazed the scuttles, difficult to tell, but I have.......honest. I suppose I shouldn't be surprised, but this is a a very wide ship. I've compared her here with HMS Mary Rose, a destroyer which was built at around the same time. 18
Faraway Posted November 2 Author Posted November 2 There is one thing to do at this stage, that is to have a good look at the rigging plan and determine where to site Bob's Buckles. Jon
Micha_Pol Posted November 3 Posted November 3 This looks great, it really does. I love how clean the upper deck is, everything but the turrets is in one superstructure "block". Where did you get the nameplate made - some local craftsman? 1 1

Micha_Pol Posted November 3 Posted November 3 Very neat; I see you´ve cut off the deck hatches? I also noticed they looked awfully boring and plain. What will the replacements be? 1

beefy66 Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I think the skylights do not have very good definition I had the same thing with Lord Nelson I just used an HB pencil to swirl a dot at each point for the glass. Stay Safe beefy 1
Faraway Posted November 7 Author Posted November 7 Boat deck in place above the gun deck and funnels fixed. PE grills to add to the top of the funnels. 8
