Ukrainian Manufacturers SIG

Hello folks!

 

Given that you are in this forum, doing this group build and reading this thread, I would guess there is a reasonable chance that you might be interested in joining a Ukrainian Manufacturers Special Interest Group (SIG) within IPMS (UK).

 

The intention is to create a group to celebrate and promote the manufactures from one of the most vibrant scale model producing countries in the world. I intend to submit paperwork to become a SIG before end of November 2024. With the first newsletter coming out before the end of the year.

 

I hope this leads to you asking the following questions:

 

What will it be like?

- It will be free (I thought this was the case with all SIGs but I was told by a friend that is isn't...) as a result, you have nothing to lose.

- You will receive a quarterly emailed newsletter which will contain new release news, reviews, featured models and feature articles about manufacturers (initially graphic design will be by me so it will probably not be especially pretty). 

- Free 3D print files. I will include a link to a 3D file for an accessory designed for a Ukrainian produced kit with each newsletter. Normally this will just be a pitot tube or basic correction parts but occasionally it will be something more interesting like the cockpit below.

- Once we are set up and stable, it would be great to attend shows including Telford but I do not anticipate this being until 2026 at the earliest.

 

What do you need to do to help this happen?

-Contact me via the SIG email [email protected], with your name and IPMS membership number.

-Let me know what you want out of the SIG. E.g. do you fancy attending shows as a SIG, do you hate the way I do newsletters etc.

-If you have any content you want to share e.g. kit reviews or a build feature etc. As we all like to shop, information about new releases would be very welcome.

 

Note, this is predominantly being done through IPMS(UK) but if you are not a member and want to get the newsletter or be involved in any other way, please still email me

Creating such a SIG is a very interesting idea.
