Hi all.

I built this some time back, but as I dont recall seeing one of these on here I thought I would post it,

Its from the Azur kit, very short run so lots of filling and sanding was needed all through the build. its finished using humbrol 27002 and Xtra Color varnishes. I hadnt seen this style of roundal for the South Vietnam Air Force before, so being a fan of something a bit different I finished it using the kit supplied South Vietnam decals.

Thanks for stopping for a look, hope you like it.

Pete.

Now that's a looker.  Tough kit, and the results offer proof that almost nothing is beyond your ability to turn to gold.  The roundels are probably those used until the U.S. started its advisory program.  I think only @adey m has ever taken up the gauntlet with this kit here in BM land.

Agreed, I think Russ would work his magic with his back ground skills. I think there are 1/48 kits of this aircraft knocking about.

That`s just beautiful Pete and you`re both correct I`d love to do one in 48th. I sort of hoped Special Hobby would do one but I guess they`d sell like cold cakes🙂

Cheers Russ

Hello

You mastered this kit with those unusual roundels, even if I knew them from a very old Carpena decal sheet.

I could start on these kits in the years coming as I have three of them (MD 315, 311 and 312) and I know they are not the best from this manufacturer.

Congratulations.

Really interesting subject and great result.

The kit may have fought you but you won the battle for sure.
