81-er Posted October 28, 2024 Posted October 28, 2024 Freshly completed in the Project Cancelled GB, this is the Das Werk 1/32 kit of the Junkers EF-126/EF-127, built as the EF-127 rocket-powered variant. Virtually OOB, I only added HGW fabric belts (my first time using them) and I replaced the pitot tube and canopy stay with brass because I snapped the kit parts. As it was never built, the scheme is fictitious, but I based it on colours seen on late war fighters, with RLM 81 & 82 on the body with the yellow variant of RLM 76 on the underside. The wings and tailplanes are int RLM 74 & 75 with blue RLM 76 undersides, to suggest components being built in more than one factory before being assembled at another plant. Paint is mostly MRP, plus some Tamiya & Mr Hobby acrylics, and weathering is a combination of oil paints and pigments. The recovery trolley was heavily weathered as I imagined it would be left out in all weathers when there wasn’t an aircraft on it, and that it might have been re-used from a previous aircraft. It was my first time trying this style of rust weathering (I’ve only weathered a small submarine with rust before this) and I’m not unhappy with the result. The WIP is here: James 34 4
pierre Giustiniani Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 (edited) Lovely job James ! All the EF (126/127) from « Das Werk » i’ve seen are different and attractive. Always the same comment from builders; a pleasure to make ! Edited October 29, 2024 by pierre Giustiniani 1
Stick Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Lovely textures and details. 👍 Complete with stubbornly stained trolleys ! ... propper modelling. Stick 1
corsaircorp Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Impressive job James !! I like both the painting and the weathering... Sincerely. CC 1
TeaWeasel Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Stunning work! I've got an FW1000 waiting for paint but I'm a bit confused with the RLM paints; is there a definitive guide on the appropriate colours from other brands? 1
russ c Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Great build and weathering, really nice work 1
georgeusa Posted October 31, 2024 Posted October 31, 2024 Really great build of the aircraft and trolley. You can tell the differences in weathering and there should be differences. Thanks for sharing both. 1

Doc D Posted November 16, 2024 Posted November 16, 2024 Lovely result.. I love this kit, for the price you pay, the options it offers, and best of all the rivet counters can’t tell you you got it wrong! 😄 1
81-er Posted November 16, 2024 Author Posted November 16, 2024 Thanks Doc And yes, it's a great little kit that I forsee another of in my future, I fancy the twin-Argus version as well. Believe it or not, I actually had someone tell me the colours I'd chosen were wrong for the timeframe... James

James This was my interpretation of the twin argus arrangement … I went for the pressed straight out of the factory look 🙂 Edited November 16, 2024 by Doc D 1
