Pattle / Pattie was a brain induced typo, the death reference was because I did not read all the Wikipedia article and just noted that his name is commemorated on the Alamein Memorial at El Alamein. 1

I looked for Flugzeug Snoopy and pictures of the comic aircraft and this showed.I do not know what it has to do with the bird and the Bristol Freighter.
