That's a brave effort for a type with limited scope. Maybe they could branch out into LMP2 or LMP3.... Now that would be worth an exclamation mark or three.

In ‘87 or so, I was in New Mexico and saw an Espace, a tan one.  I have never forgotten it.  I just had returned from a four year tour in Germany, so I was familiar with the vehicle.  It was pretty shocking.

At the time American Motors and Renault were merged, so I wondered if at one point they were thinking of introducing it to the US market and I caught one during testing.

I wonder if it's a completely new kit created from scratch, which would be most welcome. If so, I'll order at once. There is already an existing set of 3D-files for a 1/24 kit available at Cults 3D, that represents the non-running show car, which I already have printed. The "box art" from "Crest factor" also indicates the non running show car. Will be most interesting to see what comes out of this.

Is this the F1 engine powered, race track car they were using for Promo work?

limited scope?

This car was everywhere at the time!

Limited as in one car, one colour scheme IIRC. Interesting but not sure many will buy it.

There was one fully running car built in "F1 spec" that toured the race tracks and TV shows back in the day, and has been running occasionally in more resent times. Some details changed on it early on. There was also a non-running lookalike built that was/is pushed around in shows. There are several notable differences between them, but they are often mixed up in current media. Back when the project was first presented I remember some talk about three different cars being built, but I doubt that was ever the case.

Apparently the non-running car was a feature in a computer game, which led to the creation of the 1/24 scale kit files by "Olivizzle" available on Cults 3D. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/various/renault-espace-f1-1-24-model-kit

I have drawn and printed parts needed to convert this kit into the running car. It's quite a lot of work building it well though.

Will be interesting to see what comes out from "Crest Factor". What is written on the "box art" with PE, vac forms and Cartograph looks promising, even if it's the non-running car shown.

JPS 1/43 kit is more correct for the running car, just for the record.

We truly live in the golden era of modelling.  Not for me, but I'm glad that such a thing exists for those who want one!

That's the thing with 3D printing.

The only cost is your time designing, a bit like books, it's 'print on demand'.

So no worries if you'll sell out your run.

Looking great indeed, much better than I dared to hope. It will be far easier to modify this to the version I want, rather than the printed kit I have.

I've e-mailed for payment details so I can place my order, just waiting for an answer.
