Keeff Posted October 20 Posted October 20 (edited) Greetings tank fans! This build was started in the Tiger STGB earlier in the year, but never made it in the time allowed. I used an Eduard big photoetch set .... zimmeritt, fenders, mudguards and a lot of other details, which proved quite a challenge and was time consuming. Star decals were used and the tank itself was used by 3 kompanie, SS Pz. Abt 101 based in Normany in 1944 I wanted a finish that represents a Tiger that has been in action and looks well used, which I think I've managed. As usual, I'm my own worst critic! Painted with Ammo acrylics, weathered with oils, acrylics and Ammo mud. The build thread for this can be found here Anyway, here's the final result .... Thank you for taking the time to look, comments are welcome! Keith ☺️ Edited October 20 by Keeff build thread link added 17 1 3 1
Matt P Posted October 20 Posted October 20 excellent build and definitely has a suitably battered appearance 1
Stef N. Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Top drawer mate. That is a grotty and well used Tiger. Well worth your time and effort. 1
FrancisGL Posted October 20 Posted October 20 Hi Keith, Excellent Tiger, I think you enjoyed the process, with a lot of detail in the weaving, well used. Personally I like the models like this better, but I tend to hold back now... It's very close to what I would like to do with mine when I decide to start it. Cheers Francis.👍 1
M3talpig Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Very nice Keeff, well worn and battered just as it should be, don't know how long your grass moss will stay green though, if you want it to stay green then you could always preserve it by mixing a 50/50 mix of water and vegetable glycerine and submerge the moss for about 3 days , it will soak the glycerine up and stay green for a very very long time. Bloomin good work sir. 1 1
Keeff Posted October 21 Author Posted October 21 Thank you @Matt P, @Stef N., @Saeran, @FrancisGL, @Pete1961 and @M3talpig for the comments, they're very much appreciated. 😁 And thank you for the suggestion of preserving the vegetation .... I have some still to use, so will give that a try. Keith ☺️ 3
Bullbasket Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Excellent job Keith. The weathering and the damage are very convincing. I like the way that you've used the moss. I've used it a couple of times. One of the models is over ten years old, and the moss hasn't deteriorated in any way so far. John. 1
LeeM Posted October 21 Posted October 21 (edited) Yes I think you have achieved your aim. Suitably battle worn. Edited October 21 by LeeM 1
StuartH Posted October 21 Posted October 21 Great job Keef 👏. I love the heavy, gnarly look you've achieved. Full of character and very eye catching 👍 1
