Ghostbase
Just asking for opinions, I have the Revell 1/32nd Apollo 11 Spacecraft with Interior in the stash and I am seriously thinking of building it. It looks like this: 20241019_220206 by Michael, on Flickr It's a big box with a lot of plastic! According to Scalemates it was first released in 1970 by Monogram/Mattel and has been popped out every few years up to 2019; this is the 2009 iteration which I bought from ModelZone for about £7.50. I mostly build jet aircraft but I am looking to do something a bit different and being 60+ this kit does have much appeal. So, has anyone here built this kit? How well does it go together? Is it a good give-it-a-try kit or an avoid at all costs? Thanks Michael
cmatthewbacon
Build it. It's a great kit. If you can afford it, and/or be bothered, the RealSpace improvements are worth having. But if not, find all the reference you can, and it's a great starting point for scratchbuilding detail, especially in the CM interior bays. It's a kit that's worth investing time and effort in, because it's arguably the most significant single air/space craft there has ever been and certainly one of a small handful, and it's a really good starting point for a definitive model. I'd post some photos, but darned if I can find them this evening... best, M.

I took a look at the RealSpace improvements website and the 1/32 Apollo CM Interior looks well worth the addition - far better than decals - and not unreasonable at $30 USD. Problem is the extra $28 USD to post it to the UK so going to have a think on that. Michael
