I've had this on my watch list at Hannants for about a bazillion years, and had pretty much forgotten it was there. Until yesterday.

https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/BKC32001

It's now back in stock, but at about twice the price of the Revell MkIX I'd use to carry out the conversion!

Before considering whether to spend the thick end of £100, I have significant doubts over the quality of the Brigade conversion kits. Alarm bells first rang when Hannants don't actually show any pictures of the components, and from searching on here, other Brigade kits seem to be somewhat lacking in quality.

Unless anyone can convince me otherwise, I think I'll keep this one out of the stash.

If it's anything like their previous 72nd scale conversion sets then I'd defer on the basis of quality, or the lack of, but they may have improved since these were originally released I suppose.

But still an awful lot of money for such a gamble.

Pat.

That's great info, cheers Chris! Nice that MJ627 is one of the options, as she's the one I flew in

Wow, that's brilliant  to have flown in one.

Lady Luck is one of the options which I have seen up close at Headcorn this year.

The markings look wrong for '627 tho - should be 9G-Q, not the P it looks like they have it as? Unless there's a Q hidden on the sheet?

I don't think there is

Thats a weird oversight then, I don't think she's ever been a P. Will check my decal stash, but if not a sheet of Sky letters will have to be added to the potential cost

I bought one last week and i have to say I was a little disappointed.

For 70 quid there is not much to the kit, the casting is great but the main resin fuselage plug has to be modified.

There is an additional page to the instructions showing how the aft cockpit surround requires modifying.

Why do I need to modify the resin before I install it?

Also there is no parts or info for modifying the wings, some or all of the guns need to be deleted depending on which version you build, you need do all that yourself.

Overall, for the money it should have been better.

Hmmmm

I've built two of the Revell kits before, and whilst my skills and attention to detail have improved in the last couple of years, they weren't the best around the wing to fuselage fit. Add that to what Stu has just said....£100+ is a lot to spend on disappointment and lots of rectification

I think Brigade have a stand at Telford this year, so If you're going you could see it in the flesh before buying.

I have plenty of others in the stash, and more arriving tomoro, so I think i'll pigeonhole this one for now. I already have a version of MJ627 on my 1/72 scale shelf of "warbirds wot i've sat in" anyway.

Thanks for all the info tho chaps
