Bunker Bustin’- autumn Siegfried line- 1/35

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Had this on the build list for a couple years now: I’ve been playing around with various backdrops and filters etc on Fotor as it didn’t quite fit into the Photo Booth:

Theirs 10 figures in total:

I’ve adapted this one to be injured:

The bunker is scratch built along with the dragons teeth and trees/foliage:

The bike is miniart and a really nice kit to build:

The m3 white scout car is zvezda with a load of diy stowage: again decent kit.

The jeep is italeri simple enough but with a poor fit in the chassis or atleast I made it a poor fit!

This is FANTASTIC, my only gripe being, and its not related to the modelling, but more the manufacturers molding of human faces, scale models always have a cartoonish appearance to them which renders them a little at odds with the body and surroundings, especially in something as well done as this.

Really well done, there is a real sense of the moment in time.

I hope the pow mentions his petrified comrade before it is too late.

Matt

Thank you. Much appreciated.
  You would hope so!

Thanks.

I don’t mind the figures being a bit over exaggerated at this scale. But to be fair is quite supplier dependant.

Great work Paul, lots of characters in there and the scene pulls them all together with plenty of atmosphere. The mud and the leaves look spot on. That Splittermuster on the prisoner caught my eye, looks really well done.

Fabulous stuff. Cheers, Richard.

You've really captured that autumnal scene: mud, overcoats and fallen leaves. Expertly photographed, too.

Thank Donald. Easier to image now we can see autumn all around us. Much appreciated.

The detail is excellent with the mud on the hill up giving it the realism, again excellent diorama.

Hi Paul,

Terrific work!, I love it, there is so much to see and enjoy, it must have been a very complicated project due to the amount of things in the diorama.
If I had to choose something, as a favorite, the figures, the vehicles I think I am capable of doing something decent, the terrains not so much, and the figures, there is no way...!...
You can be proud of the result.

Cheers

Oh well thank you very much Francis! Much appreciated. The hardest part of all was the terrain, getting the angles was complicated with the cut through dragons teeth and bunker and everything on a slant.
  Glad you liked it.

Looks a little bit chilly down there Paul. Nice work on the vehicles and the figures, and well done on the actual groundwork as well.

Just caught up with your wip what stunned me was the speed this came together. Then the final result is an absolute masterpiece. Everything from the base, dragons teeth, bunker the trees.

Then the figures and vehicles totally complete it. For most of us we could say we are ok in maybe a couple of areas, but you’ve nailed all of it.
