Tommy Liu Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) I-16 Type 5 was the first variation of the I-16 series that the Chinese Nationalist Government received from the Soviet Union in October 1937. I-16 was a good supplement for the Curtiss Hawk III loss during the battle of Shanghai. Furthermore, the I-16 performed better and was more reliable than other Chinese aircrafts during the dogfight with the Mitsubishi A5M. Eventually, I-16 series planes helped the Chinese Air Force to obtain partial air supremacy. However, this luck ended with the service of the Mitsubishi A6M Zero. Clear Prop manufactured this kit. The kit comes with good details such as rivets on the landing gears and wings. To upgrade the interior and exhaust pipes, I bought the Clear Porp Photo-etched interior set and Resin exhaust pipes. boom.boom Posted October 2 Posted October 2 (edited) Great looking model and such OUTSTANDING SUBJECT ... I am also in the finishing process of Chinese I-16 Type-10 {Ark Models 1/48} . On the other side, IMHO it could benefit from some weathering. I would like to give You kudos for the good painting scheme {probably good considering the period} Once again, for the model and the subject 🥇 Edited October 2 by boom.boom 1

Will try it on my future project. 1
