beefy66 Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 Another great build and the sea base is fantastic. But in the photo No6 Port Bow on is it me or can we see an eye in the ships wake or am I just looking to close at this mini marvel. 👀 The colours and weathering look spot on as well hope the Colorcoats paints stretch out a bit longer. Stay Safe beefy 1
ArnoldAmbrose Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 G'day Rob, congratulations on your completion. She looks superb - the sea base, the weathering, the PE and rigging, the works. You have so much detail on her. Regards, Jeff. 1
Dancona Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Absolutely stunning on all levels, my gob is well and truly smacked ! 2
Richard E Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Excellent, not sure what else to say - the bow wave and wake really create an impression of a ship of war moving "at pace".... Very impressed, thank you for sharing your build Rob. 1 1
MRMRL Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Superb as usual Rob, you must have quite the collection of little beauties now 😉 1
neilh Posted October 2, 2024 Posted October 2, 2024 Lovely " clean" build in terms of the construction but subtly and realistically weathered and I do like the sea scape. Well done. 1
Ngantek Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Superb model all round. I've a bit soft spot for Hunts and it's a treat to see one done to the highest possible level. The amount of detail you've packed in to every part of the build is astonishing; the mast and rigging in particular is hard to believe. Thanks for posting and for such a complete WiP. Andy 1 1
Faraway Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Well, I think we can safely say THAT is most definitely your best yet. That sea base is ‘wet’. Not sure I want to do a sea base for my next build now. Jon 1 1 1
Courageous Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Fantastic work Rob, she looks stunning and as Jon says, that sea looks 'wet'. Well done. Stuart 1 1 1
Donald Posted October 4, 2024 Posted October 4, 2024 Excellent model, and the ocean base and bow wave are perfect. 1
robgizlu Posted October 5, 2024 Author Posted October 5, 2024 Thank you all for your very kind comments Always means a lot! Rob
theskits62 Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Thats another cracker. Lovely on every level. 1
Farmerboy Posted October 5, 2024 Posted October 5, 2024 Stunning work, will look through your WIP because I can’t imagine how on earth you achieved that seascape. 1
stevehnz Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 That is a real WOW model, superb, wonderful & all in all a bit nice. So much to like about it, nothing to be critical of. Thanks for sharing it. Steve. 1
Quimp Slattery Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Very nice. Very nice indeed. The sea makes all the difference. I wonder, when will the aircraft people incorporate clouds into their models? 1 1
mick b Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Superb replica Rob, love the sea as well although the bow wave looks a little too high and symmetrical to my eye but brilliant skills none the less. Whats next? Mike 1
GrahamB Posted October 6, 2024 Posted October 6, 2024 Beautiful work as usual, Rob, and lovely colour scheme. It's a great kit. Mine has stalled at the very end when I managed to knock off the top radar array and fore-top mast, with associated rigging. Ugh. Cheers, GrahamB 1

I take photos as soon as it's finished.....just in case Rob
robgizlu Posted October 8, 2024 Author Posted October 8, 2024 @mick b said it right and it's been nagging at me. I was never really happy with the bow wave but was so relieved to get it done that I let it go. Lesson learned - live with a build for a few days before sticking it in an RFI. I had considered removing the whole ship and replanting to a scene at anchor or a buoy. However - I've played withthe bow wave and done what I should have done in the first place and that's add some cotton wool. Forgive the indulgence but here's the end result and I'm much happier with it..... Rob 10 1
ArnoldAmbrose Posted October 8, 2024 Posted October 8, 2024 G'day Rob, Yeah I think that is an improvement. Regards, Jeff. 1
