Enzo the Magnificent Posted September 30 Posted September 30 Here is the provisional groupbuild calendar for 2025. There are seven standard groupbuilds and one KUTA (in red) each lasting 16 weeks. Seven Eight Single Type groupbuilds (in yellow) each lasting 13 weeks. Two Classic GBs (in cyan) each lasting 20 weeks. The Blitzbuilds (in green) each lasting three days. So far there are no historical GBs which have been suggested. Edit: Incorrect. There is the 200 Years of Railways GB, which I will now add in to the calendar. Please note that the calendar is provisional. Dates can be adjusted to suit circumstances. For instance, it's nice to adjust an STGB start date to match a significant date relating to its subject, such as the first flight. I have endeavored to keep the summer months relatively clear. From 14 July onward there will be no more that seven concurrent GBs. However, there will be up to nine concurrent GBs in the spring between 12 April and 14 June. Once again, I have attempted to ensure that groubuilds don't run over into 2026 by too much. I will put The Bunfight poll up later in the month. Edit: to avoid confusion the latest update is in the first post. Updated 17 Nov 2024 10 6 1 2 1
Mjwomack Posted September 30 Posted September 30 7 standard GBs, is that all,😁- at the last count I'm backing 11 in the bunfight, I sense a problem 🙀. 3
Mjwomack Posted September 30 Posted September 30 As for the lack of historical GB, while it wouldn't entice me, I'd have thought VE/VJ Days we're historically significant 1
Chrisj2003 Posted September 30 Posted September 30 (edited) June next year is 75th anniversary of start of Korean War. And Vietnam war ended 50 years ago in April, may be relevant to that GB? Chris Edited September 30 by Chrisj2003 2
Corsairfoxfouruncle Posted September 30 Posted September 30 @Enzo the Magnificent if the ANZAC 2 Gb gets through any chance we can modify the dates. Hopefully to kick it off on Friday April 25th which is ANZAC day for 2025 in Australia ? 3
Angus Tura Posted October 1 Posted October 1 Hi, @Enzo the Magnificent. Is pat @JOCKNEY's minor manufacturer melange going to be the other classic GB? Alan
Paul821 Posted October 1 Posted October 1 In the past there was a proposal for a GB around the theme "seen on TV" next year makes the 100th Anniversary of Baird's first TV transmission - probably a tenuous link to an anniversary GB but it's there. 1

Enzo the Magnificent Posted October 1 Author Posted October 1 The first revision is now in the first post of this thread. To avoid confusion I will only post one calendar graphic. 1 3
AdrianMF Posted October 1 Posted October 1 It's nice to see the "Minor Manufacturer Melange" as a classic GB. "Modelling Minnows"? Regards, Adrian 3 1
Enzo the Magnificent Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 Here is a first draft of the calender for next year. This graphic is also in the first post of this thread. I have attempted to fulfil the requests made in the Bunfight thread and to minimise overlaps. Unfortunately @Wez and @JOCKNEY do have slight overlaps but in both cases one of their overlapping GBs has a co-host, hopefully minimising the stress. I have also attempted to have GBs start on or close to significant dates. In one case a GB ends close to a significant date. September and October are busy months with either eight or nine GBs running concurrently. The last halves of April and May also have eight concurrent GBs. Graphic removed to avoid confusion. Please see initial post. 4 9

Thanks for scheduling it to end on the anniversary of the Hurricane‘s first flight, a neat touch. And I now have a co-host in @stevehnz 👍 2
bianfuxia Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Peace is in favour all year round and sadly probably every day of the calendar is the anniversary of the end of some battle or another...which is a long way of saying the calendar works for me. Thank you Enzo the Magnificent for your continued magnificence. 1
SnøMotion Posted November 15 Posted November 15 @Enzo the Magnificent, as the only reasonable GBs for car builders are ‘80s’ and ‘Give Peace a Chance’, would it be possible that they didn’t overlap? Thanks Martin 1
81-er Posted November 15 Posted November 15 The dates for Eighties and Post-WW2 Twins look good to me. My only comment is the title of Eighties is just that, "in the danger zone of the bunfight" was added when we, erm, made the bunfight. I'm quite happy to have "Ride into the danger zone" as the quote for the GB though James 3
Rob G Posted November 15 Posted November 15 @Enzo the Magnificent I've volunteered to co-host the GB Phantom GB, if you'd like to add me to the Hosts cell. 'Hosts cell'. Heh. Noone here but us loonies. 1 2 1

Those GBs have some constraints due to host availability, but I'll see what I can do. It may be that they overlap by a couple of weeks though. You could also build cars in the Heller Classic GB, but that doesn't help at all as it overlaps both the GBs you mentioned. The Anzac GB is another possibility. And always remember that railway companies also operated a lot of road vehicles. 1 2
81-er Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Just to add that @modelling minion is my gallant co-host for both Eighties & Post-WW2 Twins 1 1
SnøMotion Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Thanks, @Enzo the Magnificent, even a shorter overlap would be appreciated. If it can’t be done, don’t worry about it, but thanks for taking the time to have a look. I pretty much dismissed the Anzac GB, but I’ll go and have a look Martin 1

Johnson Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Looks good @Enzo the Magnificent. I think I have a co-host for the Mosquito STGB, but got to check that the dates are OK with him. Charlie 2
Col. Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Thank you @Enzo the Magnificent May I request that my partner for the A-10 STGB @Corsairfoxfourunclebe formally added to the list? 1 1
Paul821 Posted November 15 Posted November 15 Another co host for the list, please add me to Railways 200. 1

Id add that railways are a big topic so another volunteer to make full crew working would be welcome Driver, fireman and guard We could also have a traction inspector, a ticket inspector etc etc
