FortyEighter Posted September 29 Posted September 29 Purchased at Telford a few years ago: I got as far as joining the fuselage halves but ended up with a concave seam, so lost interest 😭 However this GB provides the motivation to start again: The seam was filled with thin plastic rod and the sand / filler / sand / prime cycle started and has got to this point today: As can be seen from the amount of filler aft of the cockpit, that part wasn't a good fit either (too tall), so some reshaping is needed in that area. FortyEighter Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 A month on from my last post, the fuselage is reasonable and so OI started on the wings / nacelles. The fit of the latter is atrocious, so I'm officially retiring this kit from the Group Build and might come back to it when I've more motivation. 4
Illusive Posted November 4 Posted November 4 This almost makes me want to get it and, sorry, but either prove you wrong (which is understandable if you look at my profile's location) or indeed confirm that fit is atrocious. Almost... At least this is 144 scale so great deal smaller and cheaper than it would be in 72 or larger 😝
Mjwomack Posted November 4 Posted November 4 Alas, it is atrocious! I was looking forward to seeing it built properly and thinking my experience with it was just me doing what I do best. I finally mullered into submission a KUTA or 2 ago and what a bodge it was. Wait until you get to the wheel-wells, the engines, or the list went on! 1 1
stevehnz Posted November 5 Posted November 5 I don't have one of these but I do have the DC-6, hoping that is not so bad. 🤞 Steve. 1
