martin31 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Hi Guys Here is my second model in this forum, the model represents my favourite and a beautiful plane, the Mig-29A 5918 from Czech air force. Kit is from GWH 1/48 scale. I had to use decals from Hobby 2000 (Academy). Model is OOB blanks for engines from Aires. I used a selection of colours for the Czechoslovakian Air force from MRPaint. The sand brown is Mr Hobby H-310 and bottom is Mr Hobby H-334. I used matt lacquer from MRPaint and wash from Flory Models. Unfortunately, I mis-positioned the Czech insignia on the tail. Hopefully you will appreciate this model, I really enjoyed doing this one and I have 12 more of this type to do!! Welcome feedback. Happy modelling, Martin 43 3

Hi Airbusboy For painting details of exhaust nozzeles, I have used the following: Base was painted by Tamiya Black gloss X-1, then AK 670 Stainless steel, and then I have used a little piece of sponge in tweezers and done small touches with Tamiya Clear orange X-26 and Clear blue X-23. On the end, I have sprayed a light coat of Tamiya X-19 smoke. For the ring in front of the exhaust nozzles I also started with Tamiya Black gloss X-1, AK 670 Stainless steel, then a light coat of Tamiya XF-20 Dark copper and on the end a really light coat of Tamiya X-19. All together was washed by Tamiya panel wash and sprayed by MRPaint Super clear Matt varnish MRP-127. 1
