Looking back through the GB Archives, the P-39 last came to the fore in 2018. Such a widely-used aeroplane deserves a bit more attention, so how about another one?

All Airacobra versions and derivatives are eligible including the Kingcobra, and the Airabonita.

Let's start a list

ME … ME… ME  Ooooh pick me ! Sadly the last P-39 build only had 3 final builds in the gallery. Hopefully this time around we can get more in the gallery.

I love Corsairs but the P-39 is my 2nd favorite WW2 fighter. I have 3 in stock (Academy, RS, and Hobbyboss) as well as a P-63 (MPM).

Will P-63’s be allowed  ?

Hi Dennis,

Great to have you along! We'll include any of the derivative designs, so yes the P-63 is definitely allowed (perhaps I should edit the title!).

It was a great shame that there were so few finishers last time - hopefully with new kits having been released there might be more!

Cheers,

Mark

  • 2996 Victor changed the title to Bell P-39 Airacobra/P-63 Kingcobra STGB II

Thanks for the quick answer. It was a shame but I think it was a case of too many good choices when it came to GB’s and not enough time. I may try to do one of each the P-39 and P-63.

Oh if it gets through and I have nothing conflicting I’m willing to co-host.

@2996 Victor do you want to re-pop this one, if so I’m still up for co-hosting and building a couple of kits ? You would just need to re-start it up in the current area if course.

Hi Dennis,

Yes, I think it would be a go-er. I'll start a new thread later on :)

Cheers,

Mark
