Roof Rat
Hello all I have a couple of the new Eduard 1/48 Wildcat's, like a lot of other people I think they are the bees knees except one area. I'm referring to (in my opinion) the very complicated looking construction of the undercarriage. Please does anyone have any tip(s) on an easy way to go about it. Cheers RR (Chris). Ed Russell
The real thing was complicated so there is probably no way around some degree of complication. The Hobbyboss 1/72 version seems to have about three parts, the Airfix about twice that and the Arma twice as many again. There is a guide on the 72nd forum about setting up the Arma kit which may be of a little help, maybe not. With respect to your topic title, (since amended) I could not resist......... https://www.britmodeller.com/forums/index.php?/topic/235136525-whats-with-the-golly-goshing-apostrophes/
Mike
I don't like complicated, and can't remember them being that way, needlessly anyway - it looks more complex than it was. Mine came out OK. I seem to be getting the opportunity to show this off quite a bit lately
Ed Russell
Uncomplicated Complicated (but not needlessly so)
dov
Hallo It may be no comfort for the author, that the wing-fold is a bit more complicated too! I liked hardcore modelling and did ALL navy models with wing-fold. The gear on this a/c may have been a nightmere for the maintenance crew! Happy modelling
Roof Rat
Hello all Just to say thank you for taking the time to respond to my question, I've been doing further digging into this, the general opinion is to definitely follow the instructions, take your time, check before committing to glue, and interestingly, due to it's delicate nature make the construction of the undercarriage the last thing you do (to help prevent damage). Well with all the above and the pointers from you all (if mine turns out as good as yours's Mike I'll be chuffed). Cheers RR (Chris).
