One for you German armour builders. This arrived in the post and it looks very good. Loads of tips on how to apply and improve different types of zimmerit, from the sticker, etched and resin types to a good bit on homemade zim. Loads of great modelling tips. Also plenty of b&w photos and close ups of museum tanks. It's about £40 so not cheap but well produced and inspiring.

I just ordered a Tamiya T34/76 kit as well as a Tamiya Patton M48A3 kit. Both on the inexpensive side so im looking forward to trying out some new washes and weathering ideas. I wanted to pick up the Tamiya Char B1 bis, but it's tough to pay $90 cdn for it. Does anyone know why it's so pricey? Seems expensive compared to other kits released by Tamiya around the same time.

Looks like an excellent investment Stef and should last a lifetime of reference. The Ammo published books I've seen appear to strike the right balance of historical reference and modelling tips 👍

Nice choices 👍

You might be able to get the Char B1 bis cheaper directly from Japan. I think it's about £23 without shipping from Plaza Japan:

That's awesome. Thanks so much.

I got lucky and stumbled upon a second hand kit at a show. It's a fantastic kit and you won't regret it.👍😁

T-34/76 is a lovely kit, worth getting Eduard PE set for it as well.

I have some Ammo publications and they are always very informative and with clear instructions, so I suspect that this one will be worth every penny.

Can’t think why it would be dearer, it’s about £55/£50 this side of the pond which as you say is on the drearer end of tamiya but maybe it’s to do with its size, it’s quite a chunky monkey.

Just had a look at that site out of curiosity, even the RRP of £33 is lower than the discounted price of £41 I paid earlier this year at a certain Scottish retailer. Not complaining mind you, I'd been trying to get the kit for ages, but it seems to be very elusive, at least in the UK.

£33 might be a good deal, but you also have to add postage costs, so all in you would probably pay a bit more than £41. But this is a very practical option if you're after a kit that is hard to find. Better then use fleabay where some of the prices are inflated beyond belief.

I was able to get the Char B1 and the M18 hellcat for $100 all in. Stores around me I’d be looking at close to $160 for both of them.

State of current stash - haven't made anything since May due to summer stuff and holidays, fingers itching....

stash - August 2025

Jagdpanther just arrived today,  and I've made the Challenger 2 before and it was a good 'un.... but slightly wrong colour so lets do it again.

However.... these are also in the stash 😲  how did it get like this?!    tanks vs planes!

My latest purchase:

Ryefield 5038 Sherman VC Firefly

I've been trying to get this for ages, but its been out of stock everywhere, at least in the UK. Following a cursory look in the box I think the wait was worth it.

Nice. The Tamiya Comet and Das Werk Tiger II are both on my shopping list.

I hope I’m not only one going through my favorite online shops looking if there’s something on sale that I definitely need without knowing it before 😁

So one day, I figured out that there’s a good sale going… i already have one RFM M4A4 in stash but for my project I need more. Since I already have one, I haven’t photographed it but here’s the rest. In the my brother convinced me that he really needs that Dragon Sherman so it’s already gone. But at 35USD each, it’s a good price. So here’s my addition minus M4A3 for my Italian campaign stash.

No, you're not!

I was perusing for some supplies when somehow this caught my eye ..... or was it the £24.95 price?  :hmmm:

This will sit quietly in the queue and hopefully the Self Propelled Group Build proposal will make it through the Bunfight ... 🤞

It is .... mouldings look good, PE and metal barrel included along with a neat way of doing the wheels as a set.

If it's anything like as good as their Panther late G - and it should be - then it should be excellently simple, quick yet detailed build allowing us to get to the painting and weathering all the sooner.

I stumbled upon this kit today sampling a new to me shop in Rushden. I can't remember seeing this one before.
