I also got the just released KV-1 another fairly unrepresented soviet tank in 1/72. I bit the bullet and bought from Poland which actually turned out cheaper than buying in the UK. the price for new zvezda kits is pretty high considering you could get their ww2 stuff for less than a tenner. pic for posterity 3

Hope the T-62 meets expectations! I've ordered from Super Hobby in the past and have always been impressed by their service and speed of delivery 👍. Their range of stock is insane! Zvezda's kits are very nice, i think they catch some flak for their no glue click together kits (wenk wenk, if you've seen the cyrillic you'll know) but if you ask me they are as good as anything else in 1/72 and i do use glue. I ordered from https://plastmodel.pl/ postage charges were decent, customs behaved themselves so it was all good. I've also ordered a fair bit from https://jadarhobby.pl/ with no issues, they have a very good selection of photoetch for 1/72. 1 1
badger Posted September 20 Posted September 20 @sardaukar - nice haul! Be interested to see what you make of the T-62 as not seen a build of it yet. Hopefully it's a lot better than the Trumpeter 1/72 one 🤞 2

They cop a lot of flak some of it maybe modellers snobbery but I really like them and haven’t come across their horror kits yet . (Im sure their out their) . Highly recommend their 1/35 king tiger and the js2 in 1/72. Calum those kits you’ve picked up look really good. As a 1/72 man I’m sure you’ve checked out and probably built the new Vespid kits? It was Ian c who tuned me into them. Some come with metal barrels. Their tigers look great. Paul Edited September 20 by Muchmirth 2 1

Paul Hi Paul Some really cool kits coming out of China these days in 1/72, Ive built vespids comet and its very nice, got quite a few of their kits in the stash including the Centurion. Its not just Vespid, Takom, Flyhawk, Border all very good many with metal barrels and 3d printed parts included. Even Miniart are now getting into 1/72 with 5 different stugs so far. Although don't think I've completed a build yet this year 😐 Cheers Calum 1
Stef N. Posted September 26 Posted September 26 I have this kit in my stash and I've pulled it out numerous times but put it back as it needs so much extra work to bring it up to a decent standard. It is Dragon's first ever kit and it shows. The more modern kit came up at a decent price so bought it and will do it first and any leftovers (which is normally a lot with new Dragon kits) will go to finish the first one. 3

Nice choice 👍 Will be interesting to see the comparison between the two kits. I think the first was 1992 and the latter 2010....so quite a jump in quality 😁 1
StuartH Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 Picked this up for about £10 for my next project. This is my first 'Images of War' book and it looks superb for the price. Plenty of reference images and just the right level of detailed information for a Panther newbie. 144 pages and over 100 photos 👍 4
FG2Si Posted November 6 Posted November 6 (edited) I stopped by the LHS yesterday as I was working nearby. I picked up an Asuka Sherman for a great price-$40CAD or Loonies. When I got home from work today, the new Gecko PACV was waiting for me at the door. Edited November 7 by FG2Si Added pics 2

Great choices 👍 Can't go wrong with a Sherman and I like the look of the new PACV kit....will be interested to see the completed model 1

I was going to maybe do the RFM 234/4 in tandem with the older Dragon kit, but shortly after I posted this, I lucked in to the new Miniart 234/3, which I will probably do side-by-side with the older Dragon one since there is a Miniart contest on Track-Link I could enter it in. Since I haven’t done one of the Miniart Achtrads, there’s no time like the present. I’ll get to these sometime next year while I’m (hopefully) on a roll… 1
stevehnz Posted November 26 Posted November 26 A 1/72 Italeri Churchill III from my favourite outlet here in NZ. Something to do with a Churchill GB next year. Steve. 4
AndyK2479 Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I've asked for the Tamiya 1/35 Valentine for Christmas from the Long Haired General. Also picked up a Tamiya Pz iii ausf. N in 1/35. Need to get some bench time in, it's been sadly lacking. 3
IanC Posted November 26 Posted November 26 I recently bought these three. Like @stevehnz, the Churchill is destined for the STGB. The Pz IV is the Dragon kit with some new tracks and markings - it looks quite good. The Sherman was cheap and is just a brilliant kit. 8
Armor Novice Posted November 27 Posted November 27 Only parts and figures added lately. Figures are Wite Stork British tank crew, and accessories from Dan Taylor, No. 19 antenna base and AFV PoW storage cage. Oh, forgot the Airfix Matador and 5.5 inch gun 2

The other two decal options are for Dieppe Churchills although the kit does not include the necessary deep wading equipment. I'm going to probably go down the aftermarket markings route. 1
