For me as well. I think it has to do with the fact that the design looks more "complete" and "right" in proportion than the original A and B version. Also, range is much better and payload is higher. All in all, probably a better choice than the A.

The A and C have identical payload and range.

Agreed, but I think the C is the better looking aircraft of the three.

I think I read somewhere that the container to the UK is due in week commencing 16th December. I probably will complete the set even though the others are still untouched in their boxes 😄

That's where all kits of the aeronautical abomination known as the F-35 belong - unbuilt in their boxes! 😁

According to a post on the Tamiya USA Instagram page the kits have started to be shipped.

They're here in Canada. I picked mine up last week at my LHS.

That's annoying, I was in Tokyo last week and at the Tamiya shop on Saturday and no F-35C until 15 Dec there.

In the US as of Dec. 9.  Mine arrived Dec. 13.  Very nice, and somehow cheaper than the A or B kit.

Perhaps the first time ever “cheap” and “F-35” have appeared in the same sentence!  :)

Got mine today. Need Lockheed to do a D- version, as I found some still unused space on my shelf.

CinCNAGHOME mumbled something about me needing therapy.

Still very limited availability in mainland Europe. Patiently waiting for the48ers to stock them.

Really? I got my first one from the Czech Republic more than a week ago, and another one from Germany a few days ago. :)

What may also be relevant to us F-35 heads, is that Tamiya has released a spray paint for the F-35 the "have glass gray" or "camouflage gray".

It is simply called "Camouflage gray" in Tamiya catalogue, number AS-33.

It also exists as Lacquer paint (but not acrylic??) as LP-84

I wonder how good it is, it's a weird colour, with a weirder finish!
