Pin
Have you ever browsed through the vaults and bumped into a box wondering "what is inside"? Last Friday I was doing exactly that and found about 70% complete gem started almost 10 years ago and abandoned because of lost screw Alas, the pics from the build are no longer available. First thing, I scratchbuilt and painted the missing screw and then some railings All of a sudden, this build is in full swing again. Chances are that this time it will be competed.
Bengalensis
Nice! 👍 I missed when you started this in the old thread, but looking forward to see it being completed now. I actually have both this kit and the "METEOP", I bought them both directly from PAS when they were released, impossible to resist. It seems such long time ago now... TonyW
I'm going to have to put my hands up to being completely in the dark about the subject, but what a beautiful shape it is. It reminds me very much of the 1933 Cadillac Worlds Fair car. https://www.velocityjournal.com/journal/1933/cadillac/5067/index.html

Dmitriy1967
Good afternoon, Alexey. It's probably better to write Raketa, not Paketa. Probably a typo. It will be an interesting project! 👍
Pin
I don't write it as "Paketa" but "РАКЕТА" that is all uppercase of "Ракета". Evidently I have a soft spot for Cyrillic.

Alhough I was not yet born and by 2024 we were supposed to colonize Solar System .....
Pin
Applying blue ribbons. Masking and painting rather than decaling. Don't rally like how the the rib over the windows turned out. Rudder was missing. Built a new one Most of small parts are hugely overscaled. Scratch built the mast, although it is looking better than the stock one it is still too large for the scale Applying decals. It is going to be Raketa-185 mid 80-ies. It is never a good idea to leave masks for many years. In this case it left a lot of glue residue that was quite hard to get rid of
stevehnz
A cool looking build. I have a recollection of seeing photos of these back in the day, possibly on the Volga or other large Russian river & looking pretty swish. Steve.

Pin
Sometimes I give up on a model rather than finish it. It does not mean that I put it to a bin, it means that I'm saying to myself "enough, it is not worth continuing" and just put it to the farthest corner of a display cabinet. This is the case, I am not happy with the outcome but I do not have intention to have the known issues fixed - it will take too much effort. The biggest mistake was to leave the windows masked. Masks stayed for 7 or 8 years. I should have removed the masks, clear the windows from glue, sand, polish, remask, repaint. Instead I took off the masks with the decals and many smaller details already on. I simply don't have steam to redo. Neither I am not happy with the blue strips, same thing - no steam to fix. So yeah, this is finished / abandoned For the scale
stevehnz
From where I'm sitting, this really does look very good. The problems you describe as not obvious in the photos you have posted & the overall effect is that of a well done & very interesting looking craft. 👍 Steve.
Bengalensis
Even if you may not be fully satisfied yourself, you have still made a very good looking model! I really like it, very well done. I just went through my own kit again, and it makes me appreciate your work on the basic parts and the extra detail even more. 👍

KORVETTE
For anyone wanting to scratch build a Polish version of the hydrofoil, check out the Internet Archive, Modelarz 12 1965, pages 13 and 14. I have jpg's of the plans but I'm not sure how to post images?
