Kriss
I have been blessed with the opportunity to build a test model of a PENYDARREN locomotive made or more correctly 3D printed. This is a test and the model in the final version will look a little different, it will be completed with some details and corrections. The publisher of the model is the company ‘Świat z kartonu’ and the scale is 1:35. Below is a test print.
Spiny
Just goes to show how small the first locomotive was when you see it here, still looking small despite being 1/35. This is definitely something unlike almost everything else built here, so it will be interesting to see how it goes together, even if trains aren't really my area of interest. 1
Kriss
First cutting and gluing, the boiler is ready and the parts are missing from the print. So far everything fits perfectly.
keefr22
Really interesting looking project, looking forward to seeing it come together! Keith 1
Kriss
I managed to attach more parts, as you can see in the picture there are two wire parts but they are replacements for the print parts. I swapped to speed up the build as well as to see if it could be built as a mobile version. The parts fit perfectly. And there are a few parts missing from the print again.
Kriss
All the parts cut out and fitted together on the dry model. I know that you can see that not everything is in the axis of symmetry but this is just put together for the photo. The parts fit together perfectly. As I wrote earlier it goes to make a running one because I have just tested it, but as I am making a test model I have to let go of this option and make it as a steadystate model.
CrazyCrank
It's an unusual construction on this forum, and a very nice result 👍 If you don't mind my asking: perhaps you should drill the inside of the chimney to reduce the thickness of its wall, for better realism? 1

Kriss
The reliable LEGO blocks for catching the geometry on my workshop are always at hand and Penydarren is already on the wheels thanks to them being set straight. 11 hours ago, CrazyCrank said: It's an unusual construction on this forum, and a very nice result 👍 If you don't mind my asking: perhaps you should drill the inside of the chimney to reduce the thickness of its wall, for better realism? Yes I know the chimney wall is thick but this is a test model and I just need to check that everything fits and I don't have time to ream the chimney. From what I already know the box is ready. I will definitely be making another one but already running. But thanks for the heads up.
