srkirad Posted September 8, 2024 Posted September 8, 2024 I've already done UM's BT-7 kit, but found this one few years ago at some scale modelling competition market, and instantly fell in love with this turret. So, it finally found its way to the workbench Cheers, S. 5
JOCKNEY Posted September 9, 2024 Posted September 9, 2024 Hi @srkirad Lovely unusual subject so right up my street, best of luck Cheers Pat 1
srkirad Posted September 29, 2024 Author Posted September 29, 2024 Turret is done, barrel tip is hollowed with modelling knife and some dentist bits, while main part of hull is assembled, waiting for wheels and tracks.... Cheers, S. 9
Milan Mynar Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Nice unusual vehicle, very interesting. 1
srkirad Posted November 17, 2024 Author Posted November 17, 2024 Assembling is finally done - I was mojoless for the past few months, and after Bunfight 2025 is finished I rebuilt mojo again, so, let's finish all that can be finished within 2024, in order to prepare for 2025 As I superglued etched parts last night, I'll leave it for day or two to fully cure, and than I will spray Black Surfacer as a primer... Cheers, S. 5
srkirad Posted November 19, 2024 Author Posted November 19, 2024 A coat of Black Surfacer has been applied - next step - painting! Cheers, S. 4
srkirad Posted November 25, 2024 Author Posted November 25, 2024 Paint is on - Mr. Color C135 (Russian Tank Green Early) - lightened a bit with white color for middle parts of panels and for highlighting... Cheers, S. 9
Bengalensis Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Nice painting, even more so on such a small model, 1
srkirad Posted December 8, 2024 Author Posted December 8, 2024 I've applied wash - artistic oils Raw Umbra. Idea is now to give it flat varnish coat next, and then to do color modulation on various areas with artistic oils, and only after that to spray final semigloss coat, or not, depending on what effect will artistic oils leave on surface... Cheers, S. 6
srkirad Posted December 18, 2024 Author Posted December 18, 2024 In the past few days I've tried new technique for me - dot filtering with artistic oils but on matt and pre-damped surface, so I achieved a unevenly distributed various shades... Cheers, S. 8
srkirad Posted December 29, 2024 Author Posted December 29, 2024 Finally finished - within old, non-extended deadline for this GB In the meantime I've applied chipping (sponge and brush painting technique), added headlights (made from Kristal Klear) and weathered further with MIG pigments... It was pretty much fun build for me - although no decals are applied, I've tried, and hopefully succesfully, to add some variety to single-tone camo with different weathering techniques. Cheers, S. 6
JOCKNEY Posted January 6 Posted January 6 Congratulations that looks the business and the weathering is amazing Cheers Pat 1
