Now THAT'S a Teutonic tube sausage Martian. Outstanding job as always. A few more or these and you'll almost  a  have handle on building Zeppelins. Which begs the question.... Why haven't the museums been knocking your door down to come work for them?. Because if they haven't.... they Should!

Another lovely zeppelin build, Martian.

I’m wondering whether you’ll build the entire fleet of Zeppelins!

And as @Toryu says, that gondola is definitely a highlight!!

Shall we be seeing the display at Telford?

Magnificent rendition of the Zeppelin.  The tiny little gondolas like like pieces of art work.  Great job overall.  Thanks for sharing and good luck with it in the show.  Keep us aware of how this kit fared.

The gondola is the cream on the cake!

Thanks Toryu, I still feel there is a bit of room for improvement though. It's a good job that I love building the Takom P Class kit and that there quite a few interesting/important ones left as possibilities for me to tackle.

Thanks Loren, I do feel I am getting the hang of making Zeppelins. Why aren't museums flocking to Martian Towers for one? One reason might be that building one can take me up to six months and in the very, very unlikely event that I went back to doing commission builds, which I have always found too stressful, I seriously doubt that they would want to pay the literally astronomical price I would charge. I may, however, donate the odd one or two to a museum in the future and replace it with a newer example for the collection as I still have a few ideas on how to improve my builds.

Cheers Whofan. I do plan to have at least one example of each of the wartime Zeppelin and Schutte-Lanz airships. The Display will indeed be back at Telford this year with better presentation, some new artifacts and airships.

Thanks George. I will ask Mrs Martian to take some pictures of one of the display at one of the shows. I won't be putting this one in any competitions as to take it away from the stand would diminish the display as a whole.

Really amazing to see an airship model, especially one built so well.

Thanks Nanond. They are quite involved things to make but immensely rewarding; especially the bit when you put the last rigging wire in place!

Martian,

As near as phobia the fleet, then!

As you remember, I was mightily impressed with that corner of TCC that was the Zeppelin display, and I can't imagine how impressed I will be when I see your updated corner of TCC!

In fact, I would say that based on last year, it will be a must for BM'ers to see, the actual models in display are really quite breathtaking.

I thought martians usually used tripods to flatten London?

Beautiful build, must get mine out of the stash. The zeppelin, not the tripod.

Thanks John, I  look forward to seeing your build unfold on these august pages

Good Lord, excellent airship. No wonder it needs such a base to hold it down. My exs nan could remember these coming over North Norfolk.

Cheers, can you remember any details of the accounts? We are collecting stories whilst we still can.

Not much I'm afraid, she's long gone of course but even when I knew her she was in her late 80s and to be fair I don't recall things that happened last night :) She was a young girl at the time and she said she and the rest of her family were very scared. I've always assumed, knowing where she lived right on the coast, it was probably L4 she saw.

Depending on where she was living at the time, it could alo have been the L.3.

Another magnificent Zeppelin Martian. I'm sorry I couldn't make Farnborough to see your display, but I'm sure it went down well as always.

Keep up the brilliant work!
