stevej60 Posted September 7 Posted September 7 Morning folk's,my other build for this GB is this absolute stunner of a kit,Creative Models have a few 1/32 ICM kits on offer right now I picked this one up for £26 posted and thats a lot of kit for what these days is very little money in fact when this arrived and I saw the quality I ordered the 1/32 Finnish Gladiator for the same price.Anyway I'll get cracking on the Yak 9 first then see where I am time wise. 15
FalkeEins Posted September 7 Posted September 7 ... sounds like a great deal too. Can't see anything like that on their site now, more's the pity...

stevej60 Posted September 27 Author Posted September 27 Morning folk's I just wasn't in a painting mood for this morning hour at the bench so assembled most of the Falco's cockpit, flawless so 10/10 for ICM for making what looks complicated simple. 11
Milan Mynar Posted September 27 Posted September 27 It is an interesting kit, I'm looking forward to building it. You are a very prolific modeler. 1

stevej60 Posted October 8 Author Posted October 8 Evening all, cockpit is fitted along with the small instrument panel plus the same on the fuselage halves which is now assembled and drying overnight. 7
stevej60 Posted October 9 Author Posted October 9 Morning folk's just a light sanding of the fuselage was needed then the tail assembly and lower wings added, the upper wing was built a day or so ago another lovely fit with minimal clean up and still not a jot of filler required up to now on this kit. 7
stevej60 Posted October 12 Author Posted October 12 Evening folks, small step further today ready for primer now. 10
stevej60 Posted October 25 Author Posted October 25 Evening folk's,update time, primed with Humbrol rattle can gray then poured over various colour charts and mixed the base co;our after spraying the undersides black. 6
Milan Mynar Posted October 26 Posted October 26 Nice progress, I like this elegant biplane fighter. 1
stevej60 Posted October 27 Author Posted October 27 Morning folk's,well this type of painting is way out of my comfort zone but using the airbrush certainly is a better option than a brush! once glossed it will slightly darken used Hataka insignia white sprayed strait from the bottle for the fuselage stripe so next job is glossing once the rest of the wing struts are added. 12

stevej60 Posted November 3 Author Posted November 3 Hi folk's here's progress to date, engine fitted and a wash dropped in to bring out the setail, the cowling is a ten piece affair which is a first class fit but is meant to be built piice by piece around the engine,I went the other way and built it first which meant the band of plastic you can see inside had to be cut away to get it over the engine,it worked but if you build one of these stick to ICM's instructions!🙂 10
stevej60 Posted November 4 Author Posted November 4 Hi folks, fitted the exhust pipe onto the lower fuselage and brush painted the engine cowling over the silver base coat. 10
stevej60 Posted November 15 Author Posted November 15 Evening folk's,a step back for this one I got the upper wing fitted and realised after painting in sand that the instructions called for the main struts to be painted blackso it's taken a good few sessions to correct them once fitted but at last done the Job,hopefully I can crack on and get her finished. 9
Stew Dapple Posted November 16 Posted November 16 She's looking rather lovely Steve Although you don't recommend your method of asembling the cowling first rather than fitting the parts around the engine, I have to say you got a much more tidy result than I did with either of the two CR.42s I built following the kit instructions Cheers, Stew 1
