As mentioned in the WIP thread, I'm generally not a BMW fan.  This one is a definite exception however and when a pre-owned kit came available at Kingkit I snaffled it.  The build was somewhat interrupted but after acquiring a second kit (due to missing and distorted parts in the original very old kit) I was able to finish it.  It's a lovely quality kit - comprehensive decal sheet, copious clear instructions and above all every part fitted sans the usual headaches.  This made for a very enjoyable build and quite an acceptable result.  I'll blather on no further, here are the pics...

Not only does the boot open but so do the doors...

The last three shots are pure vanity as I've improved the lighting very slightly...

Thanks as ever for your interest and for following along.  This build was nothing like as exciting as previous ones as it was pretty much OOB but it was an unusual subject and I hope you enjoyed it.

Really good work, your result is far above "acceptable", it's very good actually, you should rightfully be proud of it. Great paint finish and nicely detailed interior and dash board. A lovely model of a car of an era when BMW was still building great driver's machines with lovely character straight sixes 👍

Looks fantastic Neddy, glad you persisted with the second kit.  Great to see the opening parts too.

Cracking work

Chris

Thanks!  As ever it's a choice between the best panel fit and the ability to open doors, hatches etc.  In this case I felt it was worth it to see if I could get everything working at the expense of perfect panel fit.

Thankyou, I appreciate that. I'm gradually improving with each model but have a ways to go yet!

That's a great result, Neddy.

I particularly like the whole bonnet / engine bay detailing. 👍🏻

Well played.

Good work on this, it seems to have come together very well too. Nothing wrong at all with building out of the box, after all that's about the only way I build and it takes me about 4 or 5 times as long.

The highlight for me is definitely the engine bay which is very neatly done. Glad we convinced you to step down to 1/24 :), this one shows it was worth it.

That's rather lovely Neddy, very tidy build - it had to be to keep those doors working - and a cracking paintjob in a gorgeous colour!

All round top work!

Hi Neddy, Cracking build.   The colour really suits the car and to get all the panels to operate and still maintain a great fit is no easy task. - Andy

I really like this and as many others above have said - it's a great car-colour combo.
