78GT
After about 3 years on the workbench it's finally finished. Tamiya kit, well two kits actually.... a bit of a Carrera/GT3 mash-up! A combination of a slightly squashed bodyshell, and a series of schoolboy errors on my part lead me to be a little disappointed with the end result, but I'm calling it done as I need to move on and build something new. I tried out a few new techniques and re-learnt a few things I'd forgotten and at the end of the day it's a great subject and a nice addition to the display shelf. 18
Potsie
I think the Porsche looks amazing! I am not expert enough in either Porsches or these kit to see the mash-up, but the end result looks factory spec; so well done!

keefr22
That lust looks like a very tidy 996 to me - really like the colour and it's a lovely paintjob! I can't see any problems you faced, so you obviously overcame them really well!! Lovely Porker!! Keith

The paint is Porsche guards red by Zero paints with Halfords clear. The wheels were a little too bling so I toned them down with a coat of matt clear. Thanks for the comments everyone is this really Porsche's guards red? Looks rather dark to me, what primer did you use? but honetly, I like this darker red more than the "real" guards red.

Definitely guards red but I did use a grey primer so that probably makes it a little darker. Thanks.
