81-er Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Got the club stand set up earlier (Southend, in hall 2, block F if anyone wants to come and say hi). Just from the little I saw it's already shaping up to be a really, really good show James 3
JohnT Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Sorry can’t make it as it is too far away for a day trip from Scotland but all the best to everyone and have a fab weekend

Thank you but that looks like the store opening hours? (I can't imagine the cafe being open until 2300?) If you scroll down to Cafe and it says its closed every day? https://storelocator.asda.com/west-midlands/telford/malinsgate/cafe
Whofan Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Money - yes. Debit/Credit card - yes. Camera batteries charged - yes. Clothes ready for the moring - yes. Good shioes ready - yes. Floor plans - yes. full petrol tank in car - yes. (I could be stuck in a traffic jam!) SHower and shave - yes. Looks like I just need to get some sleep tonight and following breakfoast I;ll be on my way. SMW here I come ! 5
Flying Badger Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Gluing the last tiny repair to an ME163B that had lost a propeller blade. I think that's the last item on my preparation list (other than sleep, drive to Telford etc.) Reminder of the Britmodeller meet-up (as the original post is now buried a few pages back): 2pm at the Keighley IPMS branch table (end of the first row in hall 3 neat the bar!) See you all tomorrow! 🙂 4
Neddy Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 Here already, in the same hotel as a bunch of modellers from one of the clubs judging by their matching fleeces. Little do they know I'm lurking amongst them...😎 3

Whilst it's not stated on the website, it would seem that for some reason, the restaurant/cafe is currently closed. No info shown for how long or why!
81-er Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I had a list, but I still managed to forget both my hoodie (so I had to buy another in Tesco when I got here to avoid freezing in the venue) AND the last half-dozen of my plaques saying what my models are Which I'd very carefully painted up last night and left to dry. Oh well, they'll definitely be dry by the time I get back James 3

3DStewart Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) I can't sleep - though not because of SMW - so I'm filling the time before I start my journey from Wolverhampton to Telford. See you all soon! Edited November 9, 2024 by 3DStewart
The Unknown Modeller Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Unfortunately can't make it but have a great day/ weekend everyone..... enjoy
Whofan Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Massive queue for members, took about 50 minutes from 8.55 am to get into hall 3. It has also got a steady stream of non members walking in. Picked up a bargain at Copper State models, their 1/48 Sopwith Dolphin for £15! 1
Sharpscale Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Hope its a great show. Little too far for me to go this year so im aiming to attend next years!

And this is why I always go on the Sunday. I arrive for between 10:00 - 10:30hrs, and by that time, I can just walk straight in without queueing. It's still busy, but nowhere near as busy as on the Saturday! Usually it's a weekend visit for myself and the wife, but due to other stuff going on at the moment, it will just be a Sunday trip this year. 2 1
Mike Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Have a lully time folks, and please remember. I like presents 2
TheyJammedKenny! Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 Please post photos of anything new and exciting that you find at the show that's not been in the rumor mill up to now! Whether it walks, crawls, swims, or flies, I GOTS TO KNOW!
Captain Glumbo Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 It was busy today. Airfix had the various Lysander and sea kings all built up in the various schemes along with all the sprues laid out. Revel had their announced hunter out. I only did the dealers today and still walked 5.2 miles. Tomorrow is the displays from the various clubs jadlam were doing a roaring trade including me but it was the same prices as tje website as far as I could tell. I only bought as it was easier to sneak them in rather than Dpd knocking on the door there was quite a gathering at the bar at 2pm for some reason. Can’t think whatever they could be (yes I know it was us bm’ers!) mmm must be careful with that typing 4
mick b Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 The awful looking new Trumpeter Barracuda was on display, but great to see Coastal Craft back up and running with their 72nd scale MGBs and MTBs available again. Mike 2
