CedB Posted September 18 Author Posted September 18 Thanks Pete, Giorgio and MOK We've exchanged! Phew. Packers here this morning, load tomorrow and delivery Monday (don't ask). I'll be making do until Monday but may pop on for a BM fix. 13 1

81-er Posted September 18 Posted September 18 That's great news, Ced Good luck with the move, hopefully the new place is finished on schedule and not delayed 🤞 James 1
John_W Posted September 20 Posted September 20 Should you wish for an excuse to watch old comedy films for "research purposes", the Bristol Superfreighter appeared in the Morecambe and Wise classic "That Riviera Touch" https://www.impdb.org/index.php?title=That_Riviera_Touch 2 1
CedB Posted September 22 Author Posted September 22 Thanks Chris, Terry, James, Johnny and John. We’re now in Leicestershire with the movers arriving tomorrow. The drive up was awful. Torrential rain, hail, thunder… it’s raining today and forecast all week. Anyone any plans for an ark? Bill Cosby did: 2 7

Anyone I met my brothers in Nottingham yesterday - we were going to the 50 over final between Glamorgan and Somerset this afternoon. in Nottinghamshire, just above and across from Leicestershire, we had thunder, lightning, and torrential bordering on monsoon like rain.. no cricket though, it won't come as a surprise to anyone that rain completely stopped play. so Ced, if you were driving up the M5, M42 and M1 today, we might have passed, almost literally like ships in the rain! 1

CedB Posted September 26 Author Posted September 26 Thanks John and Dennis. Still wet here Well, we’ve completed and we’re in at the daughter’s. Storage containers almost full! Most of the boxes at the house have been sorted and the ‘new bedroom’ has been designated a store and WORK ROOM - yay! Trouble is the carpet isn’t being laid for a couple of weeks so no modelling for me yet. I’ve put the contents of the ‘mini-bench’ into storage. Took the drone up to the development and took some pics of progress. They’re scaffolding for the top floor build so getting there. Hopefully it’ll be watertight before the cold weather. If it stops raining… More news when there is some. 10 2
CedB Posted October 10 Author Posted October 10 Well, fate has smiled on us for once. Avid readers will remember that we lost the plot (arf arf) earlier in the year when we hadn’t sold our house. We chose another, same house style, which wouldn’t be completed until ‘the Spring’. Last Friday I was on the developers website and saw that the original plot had become available again so I quickly rang the agent. Sure enough the purchase had fallen through so we’re now able to buy the original house which is more or less finished! I’ve contacted the garden room builder and he has a slot in November. Things seem to be going our way for once so hopefully I’ll have the man cave up and running in a few weeks. Watch this space… 19 2
81-er Posted October 10 Posted October 10 That's great news, Ced! Fingers crossed it all goes smoothly now James 1 2
silverfox63 Posted October 11 Posted October 11 That is brilliant news Ced, well done on getting the place that you originally wanted. Cheers, Chris. 1
Whofan Posted November 4 Posted November 4 (edited) Hi Ced, I hope all is well on the new home front. One bit of news you may have missed, since you began your build of the Bristol Superfreighter, Airfix have now re released ( I think for SMW) the ........... Bristol Superfreighter as a Vintage Classic !! Thus proving the modelling dictum if you want a kit released, someone should buld an old kit of the subject! Edited November 4 by Whofan 1 2 2

A bit retro but, back in the eighties when I first retired from modelling I filled my dustbin with finished models, part built models, tools and several on-going projects. My first ever Shorts Sherpa scratch build went that way as did an almost finished Dakota which was due to become the Raspberry Ripple Dak at Fairford that year Sometimes the monster is us 6
